ESF Abacus International Kindergarten

Continuing their thinking about identity the children in K1 have been sharing their favourite things with each other and having fun creating new identities!

In each of our K1 classrooms you will find a stack of jars containing different shades of skin coloured paint ready for the children's creativity. As part of their inquiry into what makes them special the children carefully mixed paint to replicate their skin colour. It was wonderful to see the care the children took and we thank the parents who came to help the children observe so closely.

At Abacus we believe that persistence is something that can be deliberately practised and that it is crucial skill for our children to learn. In K2 the children have been identifying things that they are learning which stretch their brains and get them into the learning zone.

As part of their inquiry into the choices people make to take care of their wellbeing, the K2 children have been exploring the impact of a range of activities in their weekly Wellbeing Wednesdays. Today the children could choose from reading, gardening, yoga,art and an exercise session to get their hearts pumping.

And we are back after the typhoon! The sun is shining and there is a lot of fun being had by K1 in outdoor learning time.

The children demonstrating their courage and love for learning as they explore the learning arrangements in the front garden this week.

We are absolutely thrilled to watch the K1 children confidently exploring our outdoor learning area and engaging in a range of learning opportunities!

Over the last two days, we have welcomed our K1 families at Abacus in groups of 12 for the very first time. It has been amazing to meet the children in person & see them interacting with their new classroom environment! We can't wait to have all of the K1 children back next week!
