[ASME Career Talk: Working as an Engineer in HKPC]

The HKPC Career Talk had been successfully held on 28th May 2021. With a fun and interactive presentation by Cadence Law from HKPC, we believed our participants had gained exposure of industrial knowledge and experience, including working as an assistant engineering manager and technologies about IoT, smart city and autonomous driving and smart robot.

We are going to organise our first career talk this year and it is presented by Cadence Law from HKPC. She is going to share her experience working as an assistant engineering manager in HKPC working on innovative cutting edge technologies. With the emergence of IoT, smart city and autonomous driving, she worked on research and development of numerous autonomous smart robot projects. Join us and find out more!

Ir So graduated from the University of Hong Kong and was awarded the degrees of Bachelor of Science (Engineering) in 1979 and Master of Science (Engineering) in 1984. He joined The Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd. in 1980 until he retired in 2020.
Mr So started bird watching as hobby in 1997. He has participated in bird surveys organized by Hong Kong Bird Watching Society including Winter Atlas Survey in 2001 to 2005 and Winter Atlas Survey plus Breeding Atlas Survey in 2016 to 2019.

The ASME Hong Kong Student Section 2020-2021 Inauguration Ceremony was held successful on Friday, 13th November, 2020 in the Lecture Theatre (MWT4) of the Meng Wah Complex in The University of Hong Kong.

The ceremony officially marks the commencement of the 22nd ASME Hong Kong Student Section Committee, with 14 newly-appointed Committee Members, who are determined to serve the members of the ASME Hong Kong Student Section.

Our Committee hereby express our utmost gratitude to all honourable guests, past committee members and the student helpers for witnessing the beginning of our journey.

The technical visit to HK Electric Lamma Power Station is coming soon.🤩🤩 It is a treasured opportunity to visit one of the longest-established power companies in the world.

Lamma Power Station acts as the main electricity source of HK Electric, supply electricity for more than 570,000 citizens on Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island.⚡️⚡️

It uses various power generation units, such as coal-fired units, gas turbines, wind turbines, and solar power systems, to provide a safe and reliable supply of electricity. Upon the visit, you will have a better understanding of the principals behind various power generation methods and the operation of a power station.😎😎
