【Collection Highlights】Cheung Chau Bun Festival✨

Our digital collection on the Cheung Chau Bun Festival is now live! 🎉 It features 1,079 precious photos with descriptions and 3 informative booklets. 📚

The Cheung Chau Bun Festival, attracting tens of thousands of local and overseas visitors each year, is held on the eighth day of the fourth month in the Chinese lunar calendar. The festival coincides with the celebration of Buddha’s Birthday, making it a vibrant and culturally significant event in Hong Kong.

The collection captures a wide range of fascinating traditions, including lion and qilin eye-dotting ceremonies, ritual offerings, the grand parade, the Bun Tower, and the Yu Lan (ghost) ritual. 📸

本館「長洲太平清醮」數碼館藏現已上線！🎉數碼館藏收錄 1,079 張珍貴照片（附詳細說明） 及 3 本小冊子。📚

長洲太平清醮每年吸引數以萬計的本地及海外遊客參與，於農曆四月初八舉行。該節慶與佛誕同日，因而成為香港一項充滿活力且具重要文化意義的節日活動。

相片內容涵蓋多項精彩傳統，包括 醒獅麒麟點睛、祭祀儀式、會景巡遊、包山，以及祭幽儀式，讓你深入認識這項香港傳統宗教祭神求福習俗。📸

【Library Holiday Closure】The day after the Buddha Birthday 🪷
