Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No.2 余振強紀念第二中學 - YCK2

王泰來（Francesco Wang）就讀余振強紀念第二中學，為一名假聲男高音歌手，獲香港專業歌唱協會頒發「2024年香港專業歌唱比賽」冠軍。隨後，獲邀到意大利納尼亞音樂節（Narnia Festival）2025演出。這次演出標誌著他首次登台參與歌劇製作及成功舉行個人獨唱音樂會。王泰來成績卓越，也為香港人和余二增光。

Francesco Wang is a countertenor, awarded first place in the Hong Kong Professional Singing Competition 2024 by the Hong Kong Professional Vocalists Association. He was accordingly invited to perform at the Narnia Festival in Italy in the summer of 2025. This marks his debut in staged operas and as a solo concertista.

**Hang Seng University of Hong Kong Program Introduction Seminar – A Gateway to Economics, Finance, and Business Success**

On 13 May 2025, S4 and S5 students participated in an engaging and insightful seminar delivered by Professor Li King King from Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.

Throughout the session, students gained a deeper understanding of the university’s undergraduate programs in Economics and Finance. They discovered how these disciplines equip them with essential knowledge and skills to excel in the business world. They explored various career pathways in the financial and economic sectors, gaining valuable insights into how they can prepare for future success.

The seminar reached its most exciting moment when Professor Li introduced an interactive game on behavioral economics. This engaging activity blended psychology and economics to examine why individuals sometimes make irrational decisions and how their behavior diverges from traditional economic models. Students remained highly engaged throughout the seminar. The session broadened their understanding of behavioral economics while offering them a glimpse into the innovative teaching methods at Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.

Beyond expanding their knowledge, the seminar inspired students to think critically about economic behavior and its real-world applications. It also empowered them with insights into how the university’s programs can help them develop expertise in economics, finance, and business, setting them on a path toward academic and professional success.

**香港恒生大學課程介紹講座 — 通往經濟、金融與商業成功之門**

2025年5月13日，中四及中五的學生參加了一場由香港恒生大學李景景副教授主講的經濟及金融學士課程介紹講座。

在這次講座中，學生深入了解該大學的經濟及金融課程及該學科如何幫助他們掌握必備的知識與技能，以在商業領域脫穎而出。此外，透過講座，學生亦了解金融及經濟相關的職業，規劃升學及就業的路向，為未來做好準備。

講座的高潮來自李教授帶領的行為經濟學互動遊戲。這項活動結合心理學與經濟學，引導學生探討人類決策行為的有趣面向 — 為何人們有時會做出非理性決策，以及其行為如何偏離傳統經濟模型的預測。 學生在講座期間積極投入，展現對相關議題的濃厚興趣。這次講座不僅拓展了他們對行為經濟學的理解，也讓他們親身感受香港恒生大學創新的教學方法。

除了豐富學生的知識，這場講座亦啟發他們批判性思考經濟行為及其在現實世界中的應用。同時，它讓學生更具信心地規劃未來，並了解該大學的課程如何幫助他們在經濟、金融與商業領域建立專業技能，為學術與職業成功奠定堅實的基礎。

Battle of the Books Competition: A Thrilling Academic Challenge
On May 7th, our school participated in the annual Battle of the Books competition, where nine of our junior form students showcased their literary knowledge and teamwork skills. This year's event featured five schools competing to answer trivia questions about 12 selected books read throughout the school year.
Our students spent hours reading and memorizing key details, including plot points, character names, and authors, in order to answer the challenging questions.

We placed third in the semi-finals, narrowly missing second place in a close contest.

We are proud of our students and look forward to next year’s competition, where we aim to surpass our achievements and continue fostering a love of reading.

閱讀競賽：

余振強紀念第二中學於5月7日參加了每年一度的「閱讀競賽」，一共九名初中學生展示了他們的文學知識素養和團隊合作能力。今年的比賽有五所學校參賽，當中包括考核參賽者本學年12本精選書籍的內容。

我們的學生在數小時之內閱讀並記憶關鍵細節，包括情節要點、角色名字和作者，以應對各種具有挑戰性的問題。
我們在半決賽中獲得第三名，在激烈的競爭中以微弱差距錯失第二名。

我們為余二學生參賽者感到驕傲，並期待明年的比賽能超越過往的成就，繼續培養學生對閱讀的熱愛。

HKSSDC Competition Update

We are proud to announce that our English debate teams have achieved remarkable success! After clinching 1st runner-up in the term finals of the HKSSDC competition for both the junior and senior teams, they have continued their outstanding performance, remaining undefeated in the second term.
With their dedication and skill, our teams have secured a spot in the grand final of the competition. They are filled with confidence and are determined to give their best effort in this final challenge. We look forward to cheering them on as they strive for victory!

種植水仙花活動
Narcissus Cutting Activity

一月十日，李校長指導老師和全體中六同學種植水仙花，共同度過一個愉快的下午。首先是除去水仙頭棕色的表皮，然後從直立的鱗莖中間切開，以提供更多空間讓鱗莖生長。之後，將切開的水仙頭浸泡在水中。

最後，李校長感謝老師和同學們的參與，特別是為同學悉心準備材料的老師。大家都期待着香氣四溢的水仙花盛放。

Under Principal Li’s guidance, everyone had a joyful afternoon learning to prepare narcissus for Chinese New Year. The first step to prepare narcissus is to remove the brown surface of the bulbs completely. Then, we cut from the middle of the upright bulbs in order to provide more space for the bulbs to grow. After that, we immerse the bulbs in water.

Principal Li was grateful to all the teachers and students who joined the event, especially the teachers who arranged the materials. We are all looking forward to the blooming of the aromatic narcissus.

Chess Competition

第三屆國際象棋比賽於2025年1月16日至17日在學校禮堂舉行，共有40名學生參加。經過一番緊張激烈的比賽，最終結果如下：

季軍： Nelson (6B)

The 3rd Chess Competition was held on January 16 and 17, 2025, in the school hall, with a total of 40 students participating. After an exhilarating and intense competition, the winners are as follows:

2nd Runner-Up: Nelson (6B)

「結伴同行」外出活動
Mentorship Outing

為了推廣生命教育和價值觀教育，學校推行了「結伴同行」計劃。通過這個計劃，教師和學生會分成小組，讓老師多角度認識學生，幫助他們建立健康的生活方式並培養良好的品格。本學年的首次外出活動於2024年12月12日（星期四）舉行，各小組自行決定在校外一起度過一個愉快的下午。有些小組去打保齡球，有些小組則去了咖啡室或參觀博物館，這是一個讓教師和學生加強聯繫的絕佳機會。

To promote life and values education, the school organises a Mentorship Programme to group teachers and students in small groups. Through the programme, teachers can better understand the different aspects of students, help them establish a healthy lifestyle and develop good moral character. The outing took place on 12 December 2024 (Thursday) where groups decided where they wanted to spend their time together outside school. Some spent their afternoon bowling, while others visited cafes and museums. It was an excellent opportunity for teachers and students to strengthen their bonds.

香港中學辯論比賽
Hong Kong Secondary Schools Debating Competition

本校的辯論隊在香港中學辯論比賽的第一學期比賽中表現出色。初中隊和高中隊在常規比賽中取得勝利，進入了學期決賽。在學期決賽中，本校的同學憑著出色的表現贏得了評判和觀眾的讚賞。最終，他們在學期決賽中獲得了亞軍。

第二學期的比賽即將展開，辯論隊將會面對新的對手，期望他們再次以滔滔雄辯在辯論台上大放異彩。

The YCK2 debate teams had outstanding performances in the first term round of the HKSSDC. With victories in all first term regular matches, both the junior and senior team proceeded to the term final with the motion about the rise of cancel culture. In the term final matches, YCK2 students delivered their sound arguments with confidence and their excellent performance won the appreciation of the adjudicators and the audience. In the end, they won the first-runner up prizes in the term final.

As the second term begins, YCK2 debate teams will face new opponents and they will once again shine through with their eloquent speeches.

全港中學校際七人欖球比賽
Inter-school Rugby Seven Competition

由中國香港學界體育聯會主辦，全港中學校際七人欖球比賽，男子甲組及女子高級組的比賽已於11月30日順利完成。

經過六週的比賽，最後本校榮獲男子高級組銀盃賽亞軍及女子高級組銀碟賽冠軍。

在此感謝中國香港欖球總會派出教練訓練本校校隊成員及帶領比賽。在校長及各位老師到場支持下，加上各位隊員努力練習及全力以赴比賽，最後獲得非常滿意的成績。

Organized by the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation, the Inter-school Rugby Seven Competition for secondary schools concluded successfully on November 30 for both the men's A-grade and women's senior divisions.

After six weeks of competition, our school achieved the runner-up position in the Men's Silver Cup (Senior Division) and the champion title in the Women's Silver Plate (Senior Division).

We would like to thank the Hong Kong Rugby Union for sending coaches to train our school’s Rugby Team and lead them in the competition. With the support of Principal Li and teachers, along with the hard work and dedication of all team members, we achieved very satisfactory results.

廣州中醫藥文化考察之旅
Guangzhou Chinese Medicine Cultural Exploration Tour

為了增強中五級學生對於中國中醫藥文化和國情的認識，並培養其國民的身份認同，本校中國語文科及人文學科於2025年1月20日至23日聯合舉辦了名為「廣州中醫藥文化考察之旅」的遊學團。在四天三夜的行程中，本校師生一同參觀了廣東中醫藥博物館、廣東省涼茶博物館、廣東神農草堂中醫藥博物館、陳李濟中醫藥文化宣傳教育基地和采芝林中藥非遺文化體驗館。除了讓同學更了解中醫藥的文化和產業，更促使他們反思中醫藥文化承載的傳統中華價值觀及其在現代社會的存在價值。另外，師生一行也遊覽了陳家祠、永慶坊和沙面建築群，並在粵劇藝術博物館觀賞了一場精彩絕倫的粵劇表演，讓同學見識了祖國在文化、政治、經濟和藝術上的不同面貌。旅程過後，同學都紛紛表示受益匪淺。本校亦期待於未來舉辦更多類似的活動，好讓同學能多認識祖國和浸淫在中國文化當中。

To enhance students’ understanding of Chinese medicine and culture, as well as promote national education, our Chinese Language and Humanities Departments jointly organized a 4-day 3-night study tour called "Guangzhou Chinese Medicine Cultural Exploration Tour" from 20 to 23 January 2025. During the trip, participants visited the Guangdong Chinese Medicine Museum, Guangdong Province Herbal Tea Museum, Guangdong Shen Nong Cao Tang Chinese Medicine Museum, Chen Li Ji Chinese Medicine Cultural Promotion Education Base and Caizi Lin Chinese Herbal Medicine Cultural Experience Museum, in which they not only gained a deeper understanding of Chinese medicine culture and industry, but also reflected on the traditional Chinese values carried by Chinese medicine culture and its value in modern society. In addition, the group of students and teachers also visited Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Yong Qing Fang, and Guangzhou Shamian Architectural Complex, and watched a spectacular Cantonese Opera performance at the Art Museum of Cantonese Opera, allowing them to see the different aspects of China in terms of culture, politics, economy, and art.

After the trip, the students all expressed that they benefited greatly from it. Our school hopes to organize more such activities in the future to immerse students in Chinese culture.
