We are honored to introduce you to the outstanding judging panel members for the ABC 2025 Hong Kong Competition. Ms. Vivian Kwok Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dance Former Examiner of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council Vivian started her ballet training under her father, Stephen Kwok as a toddler. In 1977, she went to England to further her study in dance at the Royal Academy of Dance, where she was trained as a teacher in ballet, national dance, modern dance and ballroom. She was awarded the Licentiate and Associate in ballet of Royal Academy of Dance, Licentiate in national dance and Associate in modern dance and ballroom of Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Vivian has been appointed as Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dance, an adjudicator for the HK Schools Dance Festival, an examiner of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and Subject Specialist of the HKCAAVQ. Vivian was also trained at the Trinity College of Music (London) for piano performance. In 1990, she was the champion of the Open Section in the Hong Kong Yamaha Electone Festival and represented Hong Kong in international competitions. Ms. Li Jie Former Artist of Hong Kong Ballet Graduated from Beijing Dance Academy Li Jie began studying dance at the age of five and was admitted to the Beijing Dance Academy at the age of nine, graduating with distinction results. After graduation, she immediately joined Hong Kong Ballet as a professional ballet dancer. During her time with the company, she toured Spain, the United States, Canada, and South Korea, performing works such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Dream of the Red Chamber, Romeo and Juliet, and Balanchine's Serenade, Theme and Variations, among others. She actively participated in the company’s educational programs and served as a mentor for the Hong Kong Ballet's youth program "Star Contact," as well as a rehearsal coach for young dancers in the company's productions. In 2012, she became a freelance teacher and worked as a star instructor at several prestigious dance schools. She was also invited to be a judge for the Star of Canaan Dance International Ballet Competition. In 2019, Li Jie founded the Supreme Dance Academy Hong Kong with a strong reputation, serving as its principal. She actively leads her students to participate in various international and local competitions each year, achieving excellent results and receiving outstanding teacher awards in several dance competitions. We are honored to introduce you to the outstanding judging panel members for the ABC 2025 Hong Kong Competition. Mr. George Birkadze Mr. Birkadze began his dance training at the National Academy of Dance of Tbilisi under Vakhtang Chabukiani. He graduated with honors from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow in Classical Ballet, Pas de Deux, and Traditional Dance. Birkadze also holds a Diploma in Business Administration with a Master in Art Direction and Marketing. He has worked with renowned figures like Yuri Grigorovich, Ekaterina Maximova, Natalia Makarova, Christopher Wheeldon, and Stanton Welch. As a ballet master, Mr. Birkadze has collaborated with companies such as Boston Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, Ballet Manila, Ballet Philippines, the National Ballet of Portugal, and Festival Ballet Rhode Island. Currently, he is a jury member of important international competitions including the Asian Grand Prix, FidePoa, Japanese Ballet Competition, Australian Grand Prix Asian Ballet Competition, and others. Established in 2012, the Asian Grand Prix Ballet Intensive Program (BIP) offers rigorous supplementary dance training for aspiring ballet dancers aged 9-21 (as of August 1, 2025). Held alongside the Asian Ballet Competition, the BIP features daily classical ballet, variations, contemporary ballet, character dance, and body conditioning classes. A final performance allows students to demonstrate their progress. The BIP has awarded hundreds of scholarships to promising dancers for further training at prestigious institutions, serving as a crucial step towards professional careers. Open to international dancers aged 9-21 (placement based on age and skill), the BIP is led by international dance educators. Registration is now open.
