We hope you are doing great!

We are happy to announce that in collaboration with the Center for Sports and Exercise (CSE, HKU), Graduate House (GH) will organize a Free Health & fitness assessment activity on coming Saturday, 24th April 2021. The activity includes a brief introduction (on zoom~15 min) followed by on-site health and fitness testing of residents (at Wang Gungwu Lecture Hall, GH). You are cordially invited to join the activity

CSE staffs will do the following Health and Fitness test;
1: Body Composition (BIA)
2: Power Test – Vertical Jump Test
3: Strength Test - Handgrip Strength Test
4: Cardiovascular Fitness Test - Queen’s College 3-minute Step Test

At the end of testing, you will be asked to fill out a simple self-assessment of physical activity form. Once complete, it will allow you to partake in free exercise classes or vouchers for testing services or other programs.

Please note that the quota for the on-site fitness testing is limited based on a first-come, first-served. We will send a separate email to the successful registrant for on-site Fitness testing.

The remaining residents will be on the waiting list and tested in the next session, held in the coming months.

This workshop is a point-bearing activity that will be counted in the upcoming readmission exercise (including zoom talk).

We are pleased to invite you for another tailored made mental health workshop at Graduate House (GH). This time in collaboration with Jockey Club 'Peace and Awareness' Mindfulness Culture in Schools Initiative (JC PandA), HKU, GH is organizing a workshop on “A date with Mindfulness and Yourself” via Zoom on 20th February 2021 (Saturday).

The speaker for this workshop is Mr. Denis KWAN, Research officer at JC PandA, Faculty of Social Sciences, HK. Mindfulness has swept across the globe in the past few decades.

In the two-hour online workshop, you will have a glimpse of what mindfulness is, from a conceptual to an experiential level. Through interactive activities, we will also look within ourselves to explore the inner resources which may support us in riding the wave of challenges and best take care of ourselves in everyday life, relationship with research supervisors when f2f conversations are limited albeit interactive online.

In a recent event organized by the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Hong Kong brought all the local and international communities together to celebrate the Universal Fellowship Day.
The resident of GH actively participated and performed live a very popular Indian song “Vaishnava Jana To” originally performed by the artist from 124 countries. The performance got an amazing response from the audience.
