🎊𝐀 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟓𝟎 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ✨

CDC’s 50th Anniversary Cocktail Celebration 🥂 was more than the marking of a golden milestone - it was also a celebration of the people, partnerships and connections that have shaped the CDC’s journey. For 50 years, children, parents, Board members, donors, partners, colleagues and volunteers have each played a vital part in the CDC’s story. Trust, dedication and support have helped the CDC grow and continue serving children and families since our founding. 💐

We were especially honoured by the presence of Mr. NG Wai Lung, David, Assistant Director (Rehabilitation & Medical Social Services) of Social Welfare Department, who delivered some well-received remarks at the celebration.

From the Parent Journey video and 50th Anniversary Exhibition to the commemorative message wall, the photo backdrop 📷, live music 🎶 and beautiful reunions with friends old and new, the evening reminded us that our story is built by people who care deeply 💛 about helping children with additional needs and families flourish.

CDC 50週年雞尾酒會 🥂 不僅標誌著一個重要的金禧里程碑，更是一個屬於所有同行者的晚上，感謝您們與 CDC 一起走過這段珍貴的旅程。

在過去這 50 年，無論是兒童、家長、執行委員會成員、捐助者、合作夥伴、同事還是義工，都成為 CDC 成長路上不可或缺的一部分。每一份信任、參與和支持，讓我們自成立以來得以持續為兒童及家庭提供服務。💐

🎒A New Term, a New Step Forward

The CDC’s Pre-school Group Programmes provide professional, 🎯tailored intervention for children who have additional needs, including developmental delays such as cognitive/ language/ motor, physical challenges, or social difficulties, sensory or attention deficits. From 6-monthly assessments to interdisciplinary therapies, we support each child at every step of their growth journey. 🤝

🧸Teddy Bears – Parent-child learning for children aged 18 months to 3 years

🦒Giraffes/ 🦘Kangaroos – Independent group participation and early learning foundations for children aged 3 to 4 1/2 years

🐯Tigers – Confidence- and skill-building, towards school-readiness for children aged 4 ½ to 7 years

All CDC Pre-school Group Programmes benefit from an experienced interdisciplinary team, including an SEN Teacher/Special Child Care Worker, a Speech and Language Therapist and an Occupational Therapist, all under one roof.🌟

🎒新學期，踏出成長新一步

CDC 的學前小組課程專為有額外學習 需要的 孩子而設， 服務對象包括認知/ 語言/ 大、小肌肉發展遲緩或行動需要額外輔助、社交困難、感官或專注力不足的兒童 。 課程為孩子提供 🎯度身訂造的專業早期介入支援，並透過為期 六 個月的評估跟進及跨專業的治療服務，陪伴他們走過每一個成長階段。🤝

🧸熊仔班 (Teddy Bears) – 適合18個月至3歲幼兒，著重親子共同學習。

🦒長頸鹿班 (Giraffes)/ 🦘袋鼠班 (Kangaroos) – 適合3至4歲半幼兒，幫助孩子逐步建立獨立參與小組活動的 能力及早期學習基礎。

🐯老虎仔班 (Tigers) – 適合4歲半至7歲 ，協助孩子提升自信及不同能力，為入學作好準備。

所有CDC學前小組課程 均由經驗豐富 的跨專業團隊帶領，包括SEN教師／特殊幼兒工作員、言語及語言治療師及職業治療師，讓孩子在中心內獲得一站式的整合而連貫的服務，與各個家庭攜手同行。🌟

【2025/26 Term Ends on 1 August 2026 | 2025/26 學年將於2026年8月1日完結】
The Centre’s summer break will take place from 3 to 15 August 2026. During this period, some individual sessions or workshops will continue by arrangement while our group programmes will not be conducted. Our optional Parent Orientation Day (advance registration required) will be held on Saturday, 15 August 2026 and on Monday, 17 August 2026, we will commence the 2026/27 academic year, and regular programmes and services will resume.
🗓️ Key Dates:
➡️ 1 August 2026 - Last day of services for the 2025/26 academic year
➡️ 3 - 15 August 2026 - Summer Break (no weekly classes/sessions)
➡️ 15 August 2026 - Parent Orientation Day (no classes/sessions)
➡️ 17 August 2026 - First day of services for the 2026/27 academic year

Thank you to the Hong Kong Paediatric Society for inviting our Chief Executive, Dr. Yvonne Becher, to share how paediatricians and multidisciplinary professionals can collaborate to support children with developmental needs.

Together, we explored:
✨ The role of paediatricians and the Child Development Centre (CDC)
✨ Why early identification and early intervention matter
✨ Assessment considerations and practical challenges
✨ Supporting multilingual and culturally diverse families
✨ Building a clear pathway for children and parents beyond diagnosis
