嚴正聲明:提防騙徒冒充香港明愛職員要求進行轉帳/金錢交易
近日有市民反映,曾接獲自稱來自明愛職員的私人來電,要求轉帳至指定戶口。幸好市民保持警覺,並未受騙。為免更多人受害,特此澄清如下:
1. 明愛職員絕不會以私人電話要求市民進行任何轉帳或收款。
2. 如明愛服務單位需收取活動費用,市民必須親身到該單位繳交,絕不會要求轉帳或轉數至任何戶口。
3. 若市民接獲類似可疑來電或訊息,請務必提高警覺,切勿提供任何個人資料或金錢,並盡快聯絡相關服務單位的職員。

Official Statement: Fraud Alert Regarding Impersonation of Caritas – Hong Kong Staff
Caritas – Hong Kong has recently become aware of fraudulent activities involving individuals impersonating our staff members. These fraudsters have contacted members of the public using private phone numbers to solicit unauthorized money transfers and other financial transactions. Fortunately, the individuals contacted remained vigilant and were not deceived.
To safeguard the public and prevent further incidents, we would like to clarify our official procedures:
Caritas staff will never use private phone numbers to request money transfers or payments.
Fees for any Caritas service or activity must be paid in person at the respective service unit. We do not request bank transfers or payments via phone calls, text messages, or other unofficial channels.
If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from Caritas, please remain alert. Do not disclose any personal information or transfer funds. Instead, contact the relevant service unit directly to verify the caller’s identity.
For any inquiries, please contact the respective Caritas service unit directly. We urge the public to remain vigilant and join us in preventing fraud.
