DNA, the blueprint of life, holds the instructions that make each species unique. It’s also surprisingly fire-resistant due to its chemical structure. When heated, its backbone releases phosphoric acid, removing water and leaving a flame-resistant residue. Nitrogen in DNA also produces ammonia, which helps prevent burning. Scientists hope to use DNA coatings to create fireproof clothing in the future.

According to the Hong Kong Observatory's forecast, Gale Signal No. 8 will be issued at 2:20 pm today, Typhoon Ragasa is expected to continue intensifying on 24th September.
