[Zoom Talk] Confronting and communicating COVID-19 in Taiwan

By taking a health communication perspective, Dr. Mei-Ling Hsu will address the crucial factors contributing to the controlled epidemic of COVID-19 in Taiwan. Dr. Hsu will particularly highlight the uniqueness of the health care system, policies concerning resource requisition, societal surveillance, the practice of digital social innovation, as well as the social construction of face masks and mask-wearing in the Taiwanese setting. Complexities and problems evolving from border control, a debate over mass testing, and strategies to boost nationalism in the prevention campaign will also be discussed.
