For many entrepreneurs, starting with a purpose is essential in creating a successful business. When you are able to clearly communicate to your consumers the reason for your brand’s existence (beyond making a profit), your brand has a purpose. But brand activism is one step further from simply having a purpose.

Brand activism involves taking a public stance on one or more social, political, economic, or environmental causes and taking action to make the world a better place. The difference between brand purpose and brand activism might be initially hard to grasp but, put simply, it is the difference between saying and doing.
