Venue: Sha Tin College, 3 Lai Wo Lane, Fo Tan, Sha Tin, Hong Kong
Sha Tin College will provide a light afternoon tea.
Format:
Presentation: Lisa Tarquini, RNutr Licensed Menopause Champion
Topic - 'Impact of Menopause at Work'.
Menopause is rarely a topic of open discussion in the workplace — despite the fact that 51% of the world’s population experiences or will experience this biological transition. Menopause often intersects with a critical career stage. It usually occurs between ages 45 and 55 – which is when many women are most likely to move into leadership positions. Since menopause generally lasts between seven and 14 years, millions of postmenopausal women will be progressing through the workforce while experiencing mild to severe symptoms such as depression, anxiety and sleep deprivation. How can women advocate for themselves during this life stage and how can businesses support this life stage so that women do not have to press pause on their career?
Bio: Lisa Tarquini is an experienced UK Registered Nutritionist, and Licensed Menopause Champion who experienced menopause at the early age of 32. "I never dreamt that I would have to fight two bouts of cancer, deal with menopause at the same time as my mum, while working a demanding job with Olympic athletes. I had some really low periods. But they motivated me to apply my knowledge to myself and to come out stronger and feeling better than before". Lisa is on a mission to raise awareness, educate and empower anyone impacted by menopause.
