🚀ECA Office-bearer Training Programme 🚀

Students are the future leaders and pillars of society🌍. To help them uncover their strengths and address their blind spots🕵️‍♂️, they need to engage in experiential learning🎲. By participating in enjoyable activities😄, they learn more effectively, strengthen their leadership and collaboration skills🤝, and unlock their personal potential🔥.

當天舉行了多項慶祝活動，包括國旗下的講話🇨🇳、公民教育大使就職禮🎖️、國慶展覽🖼️，公民學會亦於午息時間舉辦國慶及烈士紀念日網上問答遊戲🎮，師生反應熱烈🔥。

🎉Celebration of National Day 🎉

Various celebratory activities were held that day, including a speech under the national flag🇨🇳, the inauguration ceremony of the Civic Education Ambassadors🎓, a National Day exhibition📸, and an online quiz on National Day and Martyrs‘ Day🎯. The quiz, organized by the Citizenship Society during the lunch break, observed enthusiastic participation from teachers and students🙌.

🎭 戲劇晚會 🎬

戲劇晚會是本校學期完結前的壓軸社際比賽，動員超過100名學生及校友參與的盛大活動。✨ 學生一手包辦劇本創作、舞台效果及服裝設計，親自上台演出，盡顯創意與才華！💡 透過參與戲劇晚會，同學們培養團隊合作精神和自信心，還深深感受到戲劇藝術的獨特魅力，推動校園藝術教育普及與發展。🌈

🎭 Drama Nite 戲劇晚會 🎬

Drama Nite is the final inter-house competition before the end of the semester, a grand event that engages over 100 students and alumni! 🎉 Students are responsible for writing scripts, designing stage effects and costumes and performing on stage. 💃 Through this activity, students cultivate a spirit of teamwork and self-confidence while deeply experiencing the charm of the performing arts. This leads to increasing popularity and ongoing development of Arts Education on campus.

To create a positive learning environment and help S1 students adjust better to their new school environment while getting to know more about their school life 🥰, the Counselling Department organized two events under the Big Brothers and Sisters Scheme on 22 August and 11 September. 💪

Congratulations to 5A KWOK HOI CHING for the remarkable success of winning ”Special Commendation Award“ in《無毒一生·燦爛人生2025 - 全港青少年禁毒造型設計比賽暨形象show》organised by the Lions Club of Hong Kong Shouson Hill on 18 May 2025.
恭喜5A郭凱晴於2025年5月18日香港壽臣山獅子會舉辦的《無毒一生·燦爛人生2025–全港青少年禁毒造型設計比賽暨形象show》比賽中奪得《特別嘉許獎》。

＜沙田小學英語演講比賽＞

與國際演講會、英國文化協會香港分會及沙田青年商會共同主辦的沙田小學英語演講比賽，於2025年4月12日成功舉行。來自沙田19所小學的約55名小學生參加了比賽。參賽者對可持續發展目標13──氣候行動，表達了精彩的想法。恭喜三位獲獎者！

PLHKS English Public Speaking Competition

Co-hosted with Toastmasters International, British Council Hong Kong and Shatin JCI, PLHKS English Public Speaking Competition for Primary Schools in Shatin was successfully held on 12 April 2025. Around 55 primary school students from 19 primary schools in Shatin joined the competition. The contestants expressed great ideas about SDG13 Climate Action. Congratulations to the top three winners are:
Champion: Li Tung Lam, Baptist Lui Ming Choi Primary School
First Runner Up: Ieong Tsz Kiu, Baptist Lui Ming Choi Primary School
Second Runner Up: Lai Hei Lam, Ma On Shan Methodist Primary School

＜沙田青年音樂節＞

管樂隊派出兩位同學於5月4日參加《香港菁新交流協會》舉辦的「沙田青年音樂節」，同學透過音樂凝聚社區共識 反映社會的多樣性，並建立起更緊密的社區聯繫、提升沙田的形象， 說好沙田故事。

Shatin Youth Arts Festival

Two students from our school's Wind Band have been invited to participate in the "Shatin Youth Arts Festival" organized by the Hong Kong Flash Exchange Association on May 4. The students' sense of belonging to the community has been enhanced through music. This event reflected the diversity of society, established closer community ties, enhanced the image of Shatin, and told the story of Shatin well.

此次活動中，光中學生觀摩了《荷里活有單大生意》的舞台設計，包括佈景、音響與燈光的製作過程，並親身參與技術排練的觀摩。
此外，學生還有機會與導演及編劇直接交流，深入了解香港舞台劇業界的運作模式，為他們未來的生涯規劃提供寶貴的啟發和指引。


As part of this activity, students observed the stage design process of A Big Deal in Hollywood, including set design, sound, and lighting production, and participated in the observation of technical rehearsals.
Furthermore, students had the opportunity to interact with the director and scriptwriter, gaining a deeper understanding of how Hong Kong's stage drama industry operates. This experience provided valuable inspiration and guidance for their future career planning.
