Eligible Hong Kong residents in Canada can now apply for permanent residence through two new pathways that will be available until August 2026. To apply, eligible Hong Kong residents must:
• have valid temporary resident status
• be in Canada when they apply for permanent residence and when it is granted
• meet the specified language and education requirements

📢Reminder: International students can arrive in Canada up to 30 days before the program start date on your Proof of Acceptance (POA). If you arrive too early, you may be refused entry by border services officers. You should give yourself enough time before school starts to complete the mandatory COVID-19 entry and quarantine requirements. 📅

Update on the temporary pathways to permanent residence: the application stream for international students who graduated from a Canadian institution has reached its limit and is now closed.

Reminder: The 3 dedicated streams for French-speaking or bilingual candidates do not have limits and will accept applications until November 5 2021.

Clients who need accommodation for a disability can still request an application in an alternative format. Accommodation requests for closed application streams must be received by May 20.
