Understanding Achilles Tendon 💥
In Greek mythology, the warrior Achilles was known to have one weak spot: his heel. Because of this, the idiom Achilles’ heel is often used to describe one’s weakness or vulnerability. It might be surprising to learn that the Achilles tendon is actually the strongest tendon in the body. A closer look at the Achilles tendon can give a better understanding as to why, despite its strength, this tendon is vulnerable to injury.
More importantly, understanding the Achilles tendon allows us to be vigilant in injury prevention and to support our clients as they try new activities or as they progress. 👇🏼

Using the 5 “Whys” to Identify Client Wants and Needs While Goal-Setting 💥
When we first meet with a client, it is standard practice of effective trainers to have goal-setting exploratory discussions; you can’t know where to lead your client if you have no idea where they want to go. But goals are like feelings: unless people have a ton of experience exploring them, it’s very difficult to understand them let alone name them. NFPT Blog May 2021 Favorites 💥
The month of May ushered in slightly warmer weather for those of us in a temperate climate, more gym openings, and eased restrictions, and a slight uptick in energy and excitement around the fitness industry with the slowing down of the pandemic. We’re eager to get back to work and leave the negative consequences of this year behind us!

【ABCDE飲食健身法 | Part 2/3】
在Part 1,我們已提及過身體裏有最好、最理想的「貨源」去創造最大程度的肌肉增長,甚至比合成類固醇/荷爾蒙更甚,那究竟有什麽“秘方”可以觸發(Trigger)這些貨源啟動?
我們很奇怪在香港甚至整個亞洲也沒人發現這秘方。在過去的22年裏,筆者不斷閱讀及練習有關體適能(General Fitness)、體能(Strength & Conditioning)、功能性訓練(Functional Training )及健美運動(Bodybuilding)等等的知識,從没一次看過有人提及此方法,更別說有相關文獻了。

這方法的特別之處,在於可以令任何人增加肌肉,無論是男性或女性,有健身甚至不健身也可以。你可以說它是一種強大的「合成代謝雞尾洒(Anabolic Cocktail)」,將所有增加肌肉的荷爾蒙混合在一起,形成最天然、最有效的配方。
在1996年7月刊的Muscle Media,Michael Mooney提及過:沒有可能在只用一種合成荷爾蒙(Anabolic Hormone)包括胰島素(Insulin)、生長激素(Growth Hormone)、類胰島素生長因子(IGF-1)或睪固酮(Testosterone)的情況下,就能提供理想的肌肉增長環境。Mooney更提及這就是為何從事健美運動(Bodybuilding )的人需要多種藥物搭配(Stack),去嘗試模仿身體天然及完美的「增長肌肉荷爾蒙搭配(Hormonal Muscle-building Stack)」。

用多種藥物搭配的方法雖然也有很大的效果,但我們並不鼓勵,一來犯法(在相熟藥房能買到的Testoviron、Testosterone Enanthate、Sustanon、Deca Durabolin、Proviron、Insulin、Humatrope……等等,一旦在街上被執法人員發現而你沒有醫生處方(Medical Prescription)的話,輕則罰錢留案底,重則監禁。而用黑市藥的話,除了有以上的違法情況,更可能有藥物和標籤不符(量不足或藥不對),使你蒙受金錢損失,更嚴重者,是肯定會令你身體受到極大傷害。
用這秘方--ABCDE飲食健身法(Anabolic Burst Cycling of Diet and Exercice)就沒有上文的問題了。這個方法簡單、直接,用飲食的循環就可以啟動身體的多種增長肌肉「天然荷爾蒙」了。
