Charterhouse Malaysia's Discovery Day, all students and parents had a lot of fun too.
Prospective IGCSE and A Level students worked with Year 12 students and our Maths and Science faculty on producing a new aftershave or perfume.
This Project Based Learning activity required students to learn about the chemistry of smells, marketing of new products, and the physics of packaging. Students in their teams applied prior and new knowledge using a design thinking approach to achieve a successful outcome.

Her Majesty The Queen's first official visit to Charterhouse UK was in 1972.
The purpose of the Royal visit on 29 November 1972 was to open the new boarding Houses, which was done swiftly after her arrival. Her Majesty was then keen to see the rest of the School, visiting departments and seeing pupils at work, with School Monitors acting as guides throughout the proceedings. It was whilst visiting Studio that the dish was presented to The Queen.
The dish is a celadon-ware piece, giving it a distinctive green colour, with floral decoration in the centre and a commemorative inscription around the edge, celebrating the occasion of the Royal Visit. The dish was made by one of the Charterhouse community โ Former Director of Art, Michael Woods.

At Charterhouse Malaysia, students are encouraged to initiate and develop their interests by leading these activities alongside members of staff or external providers. This cultivates their leadership and communication skills and provides opportunities to develop their skills in areas of interest to them.

STEM fair was a huge success with pupils enjoying a range of hands-on demonstrations and experiments.
Crowds of students from Charterhouse UK and Edgeborough school were entranced by the awesome experiments each department presented; we saw everything from live liquid nitrogen fountains to a taste of the increasingly-popular virtual reality. Both our students and faculty worked extremely hard to bring concepts straight out of a textbook to life.
What Is STEM?
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math.
It is through play that young children are able to engage in this learning process, and it is through play that adults can support and guide childrenโs natural desire to explore and learn about STEM ideas.

Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement in the United States in the 19th Century. In 1889, the Marxist International Socialist Congress adopted a resolution for a great international demonstration in which they demanded that the workers should not be made to work for more than 8 hours a day. After this, it became an annual event and May 1 was celebrated as Labour Day.
