[KMCG 2022-23 Corporate Collaborated Project Session Feedback #3] Jiwon Yi

The corporate collaborated project was an exceptional experience that allowed us to delve into the real consulting project. Personally, this project not only provided me the opportunity to apply and showcase the knowledge I’ve learned in KMCG so far but also collaborate with other talented KMCG members and genuinely learn from our senior presidents. I have also been able to deepen my understanding of the actual screening process of different new business opportunities and the both strategic and operational aspects of a real consulting project. Above all, participating in the final client report was particularly meaningful as I was able to receive constructive feedback and invaluable insights about our collective outcomes. Overall, it has been an enriching experience that allowed us to expand our understanding and further develop our abilities to communicate with each other.

[KMCG 2022-23 Corporate Collaborated Project Session Feedback #2] Yeonsoo Kim

KMCG enables development in various areas of knowledge that are not only limited to consulting, as suggested by its name. It provides training sessions to enable the participants to elevate their understanding of diverse industries and utilize such knowledge to carry out projects that require in-depth analysis. As the projects are mostly carried out in a team-based formation, it also allowed us to cooperate and learn techniques to work efficiently as a team.

This semester, KMCG was able to branch out to a new phase where it provided a meaningful opportunity for the participants to gain hands-on experience through a corporate collaborated project. Through the project, we were able to experience the requirements for an actual consulting project and obtain practical experience by advising our client in expanding its business. The opportunity to work with a corporate was meaningful as they provided us with meaningful feedback we would not otherwise have the chance to receive.

Through the critical thinking skills, team-working skills, and practical skills gained by being a participant of KMCG, it is clear that the participants will be able to branch off to various job opportunities in consulting, finance, auditing, and other related industries.

[KMCG 2022-23 Corporate Collaborated Project Session Feedback #1] Joo Ah Pyun

It was an absolute privilege to participate in a corporate collaborated project as a member of the KMCG. The practical experience gathered in a relatively short time span proved to be invaluable in honing my analytical and problem-solving skills. This opportunity facilitated not only a deeper understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a management consultant, but also provided me with access to valuable advice from both mentor and client. I would highly recommend this society to those who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and wish to improve both their technical and interpersonal skills.

[KMCG 2022-23 Case Project Session Feedback #4] Hyunjae Lee

KMCG’s Case Project Session required an in-depth understanding of the case that accompanies diligent research into the given firm within a tight schedule. In the first half of the case project, we were asked to define the given firm’s ‘As-is,’ covering its industry situation, business model, and its value chain. Based on these insights, we were asked to conduct a long-listing and to propose an ideal ‘To-be’. The session enabled us to develop a comprehensive perspective of analyzing a business and let us explore an ideal solution fitting the case.

[KMCG 2022-23 Case Project Session Feedback #3] Minsu Kim

KMCG's Case Project Session has afforded us opportunities to learn how to define the ideal new business for a particular form of company in a certain industry. The purpose of the session was to assist each member in investigating and comprehending the overall process of identifying new business opportunities, which is one of the primary responsibilities of strategic consultants. It has also assisted us in comprehending how a consultant can enhance its capacity to assist companies in various industries in identifying relevant and profitable new business opportunities by analyzing a company's business model and value chain. Additionally, it enhanced our comprehension of the numerous industries. Last but not least, the session has also provided us with the opportunity to prepare for the corporate collaborated project.

[KMCG 2022-23 Industrial Study Session Feedback #4] Kang Ji Un

In industry study session, our team was asked to analyze the oil refining industry. In this project, I have done desk researched on the definition, value chain and features of oil refining. Also, we discussed about the trend that can affect the current industrial situation, such as ESG regulation initiated by UN organization. As a result, we produced a powerpoint slides for pitch to other members.

During the project, I have learned how to apply accounting in consulting area. Each cost and debt have their own meaning in a way of how the company or general industry manage their assests. In general, I was able to reach to the level of applying suitable account data for supporting my logic in consulting through this project.

The industry study session of KMCG has enabled me to cultivate research skills to learn about different industries; Key information to find, an appropriate approach for more practical research, and visualization skills of those research results. By completing the project in a limited time of two weeks, the members, including myself, had a similar experience to working in an actual consulting firm. Thus, I believe KMCG is a worth-joining group if you plan to work in the consulting field.

Since joining KMCG, my working-level skills have been substantially enhanced, thanks to the comprehensive edu-sessions on powerpoint, excel, and qualitative & quantitative research skills. These sessions have endowed me with a powerful blend of hard and soft skills, enabling me to execute projects with increased efficiency and effectiveness. A consultant’s ultimate goal is to deliver practical solutions to complex problems, which often requires meticulous analysis and presentation of diverse insights and perspectives, demanding strong hard skills. With the skillsets I acquired through KMCG's edu-sessions, I believe I can now logically address and approach problems with confidence, rendering me a valuable asset to any project team.

[KMCG 2022-23 Edu-Session Feedback #2] Sangwon Park

The edu-session provided a comprehensive understanding of the various tools and concepts required to formulate effective business propositions as a consultant. Experienced mentors introduced key business frameworks and research methods, and through interactive sessions between topics, I was able to apply those concepts to real-life scenarios. Learning about the logical thinking process and problem structuring as a consultant was highly informative, and it has given me greater confidence in my career path.

KMCG is an excellent option to acquire practical experience and develop relevant skills necessary for a career in consulting. The edu-session consists a broad range of learning programs, covering both soft and hard skills that are essential to becoming a consultant. The opportunity to gain exposure to different industries and utilize business frameworks has broadened my knowledge and helped me to understand how consulting works in practice.

[KMCG 2022-23 Member Interview #4] Joonwoo Bae

KMCG is an excellent opportunity for students to understand the business as well as to understand the actual business process at the company. The practice of presenting a presentation, starting with team-to-team communication, R&R, and research sharing, is an opportunity for students to broaden their perspective on the actual company. Through KMCG, I was able to learn about the flow, distribution, and importance of communication, and furthermore, I was able to learn how to organize given tasks logically, such as PPT and Excel.

I think it's a good conference to learn Soft-Skill and Technical Skills not only for freshmen and sophomores but also for juniors and seniors who will join full-time or summer analysts in the future.

[KMCG 2022-23 Case Project Session Feedback #2] Yehun Kim

KMCG's Case Study Session has provided us with opportunities to learn about not only different industries but also 'ways' how consultants should value, analyze, and evaluate them. The session is designed to help each team investigate and understand assigned industry and share with other teams. The session enabled us to learn fundamental backgrounds and knowledge of industries, ascertain which aspects should be explored and analyzed, and improve presentation and communication skills.
