Garden House Waldorf Primary School

*Part-time Violin Teacher*

Starting: September 2023

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic violin teacher to instruct small classes of third and fourth graders for 2 periods per week from approximately 2:30 am-3:30 pm.

Requirements:
- Experience in violin instruction using the Suzuki method (learning to play by ear)
- Familiarity with Waldorf Education is a plus
- An enthusiasm and capacity for lifting children onto playing the violin
- Fluent in English with Cantonese advantage

Basic Responsibilities:
- Develop age-appropriate curriculum (in consultation with school)
- Create lesson plans
- Communicate with families as needed
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences twice a year as needed or requested by parents
- Write student assessments twice a year
- Help with Class performances as needed

The class is conducted in English and/or Cantonese. This is a part-time position, and the wages will be based on education and experience.

Whole school outing ☀️🏝️
We were extremely excited for the Whole School Outing that took place on March 10th, and we were pleased to have a sunny, bright day for the event. School community events create a time where the children, their family members, and the teachers can all come together and celebrate. Our Whole School outing was to celebrate the arrival of Spring🌺🌿, and we thought what better way to celebrate its return than to head out into the glorious spring weather, to soak up the sun, enjoy the fresh breeze, and socialize together as a group. We all had ample time to connect with nature, and it was a perfect opportunity to do so, taking the time to look closely at the natural world around us, to be inquisitive about the why's and how's, and to come away with perhaps a little more appreciation of the nature we often rush past most days. ❤️✨
