As this cohort of the HKU Business School Master’s programme approaches their final chapter, our Student Enrichment team hosted an exclusive celebratory event at Hong Kong Disneyland on 15 May. This special day was organised to recognise the outstanding participation and performance of our House Committee members, as well as to honour winners of the Annual Virtual House Awards. Filled with excitement, everyone gathered in front of the Castle of Magical Dreams to kick off this spectacular adventure.

【🎠 Exclusive Tour: The World of Frozen and Fantasyland】
Students were guided on an exclusive tour through the World of Frozen and Fantasyland, where they got to explore Elsa and Anna’s Playhouse in the Woods and fully immerse themselves in the Park’s enchanting atmosphere. The VIP experience made the students feel a sense of childlike joy as they posed for photos, enjoyed rides across the park, and indulged in a special breakfast at Tomorrowland’s Starliner Diner.

【🏆 Awards Ceremony: Applause and Surprises】
Once the theatre was filled and the opening performance concluded, the awards ceremony officially began. Prof. Xin WANG, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate), delivered the opening remarks, stating, “As part of our Graduation Week celebrations, this event brings our cohort together to honour our strong bonds and shared achievements. Today, we celebrate not only accomplishments, but also the connection and collaboration that define our community.”

“StellaLou's Wonderful Wishes Ballet” was the much-anticipated highlight of the day, co-presented by the Hong Kong Ballet and Hong Kong Disneyland. Led by StellaLou and her friends, students were transported into a heartwarming, whimsical fairytale that celebrated ambition and courage.

🤩 The AI Video Festival 2025-2026 recently concluded with its awards presentation ceremony, recognising the achievements of this year’s participants. A showcase of cutting-edge filmmaking, the festival once again spotlighted the unlimited potential of AI video creation among talented students and alumni.

💡 This year’s festival featured two categories: Personal Branding and Corporate Branding, welcoming individual submissions from students and alumni, as well as from student groups. Leveraging AI tools, from script generation to automated editing, each entry reflected the creators’ bold exploration and practical skills in the realm of AI technology.

🏆 The lists of winners are featured in the accompanying images, including Most Popular Video, Most Creative Video, and Honorable Mentions. We extend a huge congratulations to all winners and sincerely thank every participant who bravely pushed the boundaries of artistic expression.

The HKU Business School 2026 Future Leaders Quest - Dean’s Masters Fellowship Selection Camp recently drew to a triumphant close. The event brought together 120 exceptional students from world-renowned universities, including Tsinghua, Peking, NYU, Cornell, and NUS, for an intensive yet rewarding two days at HKU.

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Xin WANG, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate), delivered a welcome speech, outlining the strengths of HKU, and exclusive benefits, support and privileges available to recipients of the Dean’s Master Fellowship.

Faculty from the Career Development & Training team and Student Enrichment team, alongside student representatives, connected with campers to provide an insider’s look into the experience at HKU and career resources.

Professor David Lee, a leading academic from HKU, delivered a special talk entitled “Using Strategy to Design a Meaningful Life”. Through structural analysis and case studies, he guided students in dissecting the logic behind their choices.

【🧑‍🏫Core Selection: Rigorous Academic Assessment】
Through case studies, group presentations, and one-on-one interviews, participants were evaluated on their analytical abilities, teamwork, and academic potential. Programme directors also provided in-depth overviews of their respective disciplines.

【💬Shaping the Future: A Vibrant Networking Dinner】
Set against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour, the networking dinner brought together programme directors, professors, alumni, student ambassadors, and teachers from all departments to connect with the campers, complemented by lively games and interactive Q&A sessions.

【💼Corporate Visits: Inside the Global Financial Hub】
On the second morning, campers visited the HKEX, LinkedIn, and HashKey offices. These exclusive visits offered a firsthand look at Hong Kong’s diverse ecosystem as a global financial centre, spanning capital markets, professional social platforms, and the frontiers of digital assets and blockchain.

【🗺Closing Ceremony: Inspiring Words】
Following an immersive campus treasure hunt, the camp concluded with a grand closing ceremony. Prof. Xin WANG, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate), addressed the cohort, praising their strong academic foundations and dedication to learning.

Mr. Arthur Shek, Managing Partner of McKinsey & Company Hong Kong, delivered a talk on “Leadership in the AI Era”, drawing on his extensive industry experience to elaborate on the key to gaining a competitive edge in the era of AI.

🤩 On 7 May, HKU Business School hosted a grand luncheon to celebrate the Masters Class of 2026. Graduates, faculty members, mentors, alumni, and school leadership gathered in a warm, sophisticated atmosphere to commemorate this proud milestone.

🧑‍🏫 Professor Xin Wang, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate), kicked off the luncheon with a welcome address, offering his sincere congratulations and expressing high hopes for graduates to cherish the wonderful moments spent at HKU, to continue to excel in the wider world, and to boldly embark on a new chapter in their lives. A celebratory toast followed, where he was joined by Professor Hailiang Chen, Assistant Dean (Taught Postgraduate), alongside various programme Directors and Associate Directors. Together, the entire room raised a glass to the graduates' bright futures.

The luncheon provided a relaxed and lively setting for students and faculty to mingle, take photos, and share their congratulations. The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony, which celebrated achievements across four categories:
🔹 AI Video Festival: Social Media Short Video Competition – Awards for Best Video, Runner-up, and Second Runner-up across various categories
🔹 Student Services Award – Recognising students for outstanding leadership and dedication to community building, student activities, and social service
🔹 Fargo Wealth Excellence Scholarship – Honouring graduates for exceptional academic performance and achievements during their studies
🔹 Grand House Awards – Awarded to the top three House Committees based on a mini-app leaderboard

🏆 Each winner was met with enthusiastic applause as they took to the stage to accept their awards, creating memorable moments under the spotlight.

🧑‍🎓 Student representatives then came onstage to reflect on their rewarding experience at HKU Business School, sharing their top highlights and expressing heartfelt gratitude to the faculty for their guidance and support during their studies.
