On 3 July, I-School welcomed several winning and outstanding teams from 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗣𝗢𝗣! 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 for a campus visit and hands-on workshop. Together, students took on the Marshmallow Challenge and an ideation exercise, exploring how creativity, teamwork, communication, and rapid prototyping can turn ideas into something testable.

We were also glad to reconnect with 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗣𝗢𝗣! 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, where 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘧. 𝘏𝘢𝘺𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘚𝘰 served as one of the judges, supporting young innovators as they shaped ideas for real-world impact.

7月3日，I-School 好高興歡迎 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗣𝗢𝗣! 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 多隊得獎及優秀隊伍到訪校園，參與一場 hands-on workshop。同學一齊挑戰 Marshmallow Challenge，亦透過 ideation exercise 探索點樣用創意、團隊合作、溝通同 rapid prototyping，將 idea 變成可以測試、可以改進嘅方案。

Happy 35th Anniversary to the Hong Kong Science Museum! 🥳 To celebrate this milestone, HKU I-School has partnered with to give the iconic Energy Machine a dazzling 2026 makeover.

Our team has created a series of luminous orbs in vibrant orange, blue, green, and purple that will race through the 1.6km track in a spectacular "Energy x Light" journey. It’s where heritage engineering meets modern innovation!

為咗慶祝呢個大日子，HKU I-School 特別同 合作，為館內最經典嘅「能量穿梭機」換上 2026 幻彩新裝！

我哋設計咗一系列會發光嘅能量球（橙、藍、綠、紫色），喺 1.6 公里長嘅軌道上展開一場「能量 x 燈光」之旅。呢次合作完美展示咗 I-School 點樣用創新技術活化經典。

呢個特別強化版只係限時展出兩星期，快啲嚟現場感受呢份震撼啦！

𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚: 𝙄-𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝘿𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣 🚢🌊

From March 17–20, our Director Prof. Hayden So and two BSc(I&T) students joined a 50-member delegation to Dalian to explore the future of Green Shipping.

As part of the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, we visited industry leaders like Hengli Heavy Industry and Dalian Maritime University. The mission? To see how innovation, research, and academia can team up to support Hong Kong’s growth as a global commodity trading and green maritime hub. 🍃⚓️

This trip reminded us that the biggest innovation challenges are often found at sea. By connecting our students with the maritime ecosystem, we’re preparing them to solve real-world problems in emerging industries.

Huge thanks to the Hong Kong Shipowners Association for this eye-opening exchange!

創科不只在陸地，更在海洋！🚢🌊

3 月 17 至 20 日，蘇國希教授同兩位 BSc(I&T) 同學跟隨香港船東會代表團出訪大連，參與「海事人才培育聯盟」交流活動。

我哋走訪咗大連商品交易所同恆力重工等機構，探討創新科研點樣推動「綠色航運」同大宗商品交易。🍃⚓️ 呢次旅程令同學明白到，跨學科學習對於應對複雜嘅行業挑戰至關重要。

多謝香港船東會嘅安排，等 I-School 同學可以親身感受航運業嘅科技轉型！
