😉HKICON is pleased to support the 62nd IFLA World and Asia-Pacific Regional Congress 2026!

Organized by IFLA, IFLA Asia Pacific Region and The Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA), the IFLA World and Asia-Pacific Regional Congress 2026 will take place in Hong Kong, China, from 28-30 October 2026 under the theme of “Liminal Landscapes: Shifting Boundaries of Watersheds and Coastlines”, with technical tours to be held on 31 October 2026. This three-day event will showcase inspiring keynote speeches, plenary sessions, presentations, technical tours, exhibitions, and social networking events. We sincerely invite landscape architects and professional partners to join us in exploring the transformative potential and opportunities foregrounded by the idea of liminality in landscape architecture in Hong Kong!

The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) World Congress is the largest international event dedicated to the landscape architecture profession. The Congress will welcome over 120 delegates from more than 82 countries and regions with more than 1,500 international and local participants, including cross-disciplinary practitioners, researchers, educators, businesses and students. The Congress will provide a platform for landscape architects and IFLA’s professional partners from around the world to share their knowledge and networking.

😉Join us for Talk!: "3D Scanning: From Micro to Macro 3D掃描：從微觀到宏觀"

This talk will introduce the application of terrestrial laser scanning in architectural conservation, with a focus on how scanned data is captured, processed, managed, and translated into useful conservation outputs. The session will cover practical workflows for handling point cloud data, including data cleaning, registration, modelling, visualisation, and preparation for drawings, analysis, and presentation. Through a range of local case studies, the talk will demonstrate how 3D scanning can be applied at different scales, from detailed building elements and construction features to entire historic sites and landscape settings. The presentation will also showcase fly-through videos and other visual outputs, illustrating how digital survey data can enhance communication with project teams, stakeholders, students, and the wider public. By examining both technical processes and real project applications, this talk aims to provide participants with a practical understanding of how 3D scanning contributes to heritage conservation today, and how digital twin and digital documentation approaches may shape the future of conservation practice.

工業遺產保護正經歷範式轉型——從單體建築保存，走向價值闡釋、活態傳承與區域文化景觀。面對舊船塢、前水務設施以至傳統手工業遺址，保育專業人員應如何建立系統化的調查與評估框架？

【魯班先師廟: 慶賀魯班先師寶誕活動 - 青年魯班選舉2026頒獎典禮】

在2026年8月8日（星期六），會長胡燦森建築師代表香港建築文物保護師學會出席了魯班先師廟的頒獎典禮及較早前的晚宴。是次活動旨在弘揚魯班精神、推動工匠文化，並鼓勵青年工匠承傳技藝。

On August 8, 2026 (Saturday), President and Architect Mr. Roger WU represented our association at the awards ceremony at Lo Pan Temple and the dinner held earlier by Hong Kong Lo Pan Kwong Yuet Tong.

The purpose of this event is to promote the spirit of Lo Pan, craftsmanship culture, and encourage young craftsmen to inherit their skills.

【New CPD Course】 Revitalizing Historic Landscapes: Lessons from Langtou, China (Apply by 5 Aug!)

We are excited to co-launch our latest professional development short course: "Revitalizing Historic Urban and Rural Landscapes through Heritage-based Solutions: Lessons from Langtou, China."

This unique program is a joint collaboration between:
• The University of Hong Kong (Division of Landscape Architecture / MSc in Conservation Programme)
• Tongji University / WHITRAP
• Hong Kong Institute of Architectural Conservationists

Through the lens of the UNESCO Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) approach, we will study Langtou—a 700-year-old ancient Lingnan village and its revitalization project. Participants will engage in high-level lectures, group work mapping historic landscapes, application of post-SDG and MONDIACULT frameworks within the online and 2-day immersive on-site field study.
