We thought you might be curious about the bag on the inside. Here's the removable and washable canvas lining, sewn in Yupukari Village, with customized pockets designed for a laptop and cord, a phone and charger, a water bottle, a wallet, some file folders, and a few other items you might need to pack up for a day out. You might say it's Indigenous tradition meets Modern application. In our opinion, the best of both worlds. What do you get when Sawariwau Village meets Yupukari Village with the support of Ambassade de France à Sainte-Lucie / French Embassy in St Lucia ? A Wabbani product getting better every day, as we keep learning and refining.
What does it mean to be Modern Indigenous? We don't know, exactly, but Wabbani, our craft preservation project, is on a mission to find out. What do traditional crafts mean when their traditional uses are fading away? What new role and purpose can we discover?
