Advocate for the differently-able people in the Corentyne community (Berbice) and at large with TOTAL inclusion in all aspects of life.

The CCBRC is a branch of the Guyana Community Based Rehabilitation Programme which began on the 16th August 1986 after being registered under the Guyana's Friendly society Act. It is a Non-profit organisation having effective partnership with a number of other agencies, organisations,private and public sectors, educational institutions, government( National Commission on Disabilities).and is a member of the Guyana Council of Organisation for Persons With Disabilities.

General information

The Corentyne Community Based rehab. Center is situated @ Lot6 Portuguese Quarters, Freeyard, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice. Accessible to all and conveniently located on the main thoroughfare of the general public. At present with twenty-five(25) enrolled students having different disabilities learning basic literacy and numeracy skills, sign language,braille,fabric painting,tie dying,art etc in the morning then introduce into the regular school system for further educational instructions. In advocating that all persons with disabilities should have Equal opportunities to participate fully in social and economic life of the community,given access to support and resource systems to enable them to be inclusive, create a society that values our multicultural backgrounds as Guyanese and should be recognised as citizens and be accorded all Rights extended to other citizens.
