At Tech Booth Camp, we explored how light can be used as a control signal in embedded systems.
This project uses an Arduino and a photocell to detect light intensity and send signals to a servo motor. Based on the amount of light received, the servo motor responds with specific movements. Through this activity, participants learned how sensors collect data, how microcontrollers process that data, and how outputs are controlled in real time.
By building and testing this system, campers gained hands-on experience with basic electronics, programming logic, and the relationship between inputs and outputs in automation.
Some Real-world applications of this project include:
• Automatic lighting systems that adjust fixtures based on ambient light
• Smart window blinds that open or close depending on sunlight levels
• Solar panel alignment systems that track the sun for better efficiency
