๐Ÿ Congratulations to Our Very Own Suresh Dhanai!๐Ÿ†

The New Amsterdam Multilateral School (NAMS) proudly congratulates Suresh Dhanai (Class of 2011) on leading the Long Island Raptors to their first-ever New York National League Guyana Cup Championship, defeating the Queens Sharks in the final. Even more impressive, the Raptors remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, a remarkable achievement that reflects the team's consistency, determination, and skill.

Reflecting on the historic triumph, Dhanai noted that winning the toss in each match provided his team with added confidence heading into their games. He also credited the strong camaraderie within the squad and the invaluable investment made in the players by the team's sponsors, including Movements Family Hotel & Bar and Naven's Construction.

Dhanai was instrumental in the Raptors' championship run, finishing as the team's second-highest wicket-taker with eight wickets, just one behind the leading wicket taker, West Indies all rounder Kevin Sinclair. His standout performances included:
โ€ข 3-6 against Demerara Eagles
โ€ข 2-16 against Essequibo Jaguars in the semi-final
โ€ข 3-18 against Queens Sharks in the final

These outstanding bowling figures underscore the pivotal role he played in securing the Raptors' historic title.

The MultiVerse extends its heartfelt congratulations to Suresh and the entire Long Island Raptors team on this fantastic accomplishment. Suresh continues to excel both on and off the field, serving as an inspiration to current and future students.

We are immensely proud of you, Suresh. Keep soaring and making the MultiVerse proud!

๐ŸŽค NAMS Launches the Noreen Jafarally Memorial Inter-House Debating Competition ๐ŸŽค
The New Amsterdam Multilateral School is pleased to announce the launch of the Noreen Jafarally Memorial Inter-House Debating Competition, a new annual academic initiative established by Board of Governors member and former student Mr. Roy Jafarally in honour of his late mother, Mrs. Noreen Jafarally.
Through this meaningful initiative, Mr. Jafarally seeks to preserve his mother's legacy by promoting critical thinking, effective communication, confidence, and academic excellence among the students of NAMS. The competition will provide a platform for students from all five houses to engage in healthy intellectual discourse while developing the skills necessary to become informed and articulate young leaders.
Beyond fostering a culture of debate within the school, the competition will serve as a vital talent identification programme. Students who demonstrate exceptional debating skills, research abilities, and public speaking competence will be considered for selection to the school's debating team, which represents NAMS at various inter-school debating competitions..
The New Amsterdam Multilateral School extends sincere appreciation to Mr. Roy Jafarally for initiating and supporting this worthwhile endeavour. His commitment to investing in opportunities that enrich the educational experience of our students reflects his strong interest and dedication in promoting the continuous growth and development of NAMS.
The inaugural staging of the Noreen Jafarally Memorial Inter-House Debating Competition promises to be an exciting showcase of intellect, creativity, and persuasive communication. More importantly, it will ensure that the memory of Mrs. Noreen Jafarally continues to inspire future generations of students while contributing to the growth and success of debating at NAMS.
We look forward to witnessing our students rise to the challenge as they research, reason, and respectfully defend their positions in what is expected to become one of the school's premier academic competitions.
