Parents/Guardians who have not yet registered their child for Grade 7 are reminded that online registration has been reopened from Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14, 2026.

Online registration is mandatory for all students, unless otherwise advised by the school.

With profound sadness, the NGSS family mourns the tragic loss of Orin Europe, a former student of North Georgetown Secondary School, whose life was lost in the MV Barima tragedy, along with his beloved sons, Omarius and Orwin.

We extend our deepest condolences to their family, friends, and all those grieving this unimaginable loss.

North Georgetown Secondary School successfully hosted a parent and student intervention for all Grade 7 students and their parents, focusing on Drug and Alcohol Awareness.

The session explored the legal consequences of drug and alcohol use, the health risks associated with substance abuse, and practical strategies for prevention to help parents and students make informed, healthy choices.

The intervention was well received by parents, who actively engaged in the session and demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting their children's well-being.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our presenters from the Albertown Police Station, Sergeant Carroll, Inspector Benjamin, and Inspector Peters, as well as the Ministry of Health's Drug Prevention Unit, Ashanti Conway, for sharing their expertise and engaging our school community in this important discussion.

North Georgetown Secondary School Guidance Counseling Department was honoured to partner with the Ministry of Health , Adolescent Health Unit and Desert Flower Guyana Inc. to host a three days Mental Health Workshop for our Grade 7, 8, and 9 students under the inspiring theme "You, Me, Myself: Understand, Accept, and Grow."

The workshop provided students with a safe and engaging space to learn, reflect, and develop important life skills through interactive sessions on: Coping Skills
Drug and Alcohol Risk and Prevention
"WASH" (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), and Building Positive Relationships

One the final day featured a special parent engagement session titled "I Wish My Parent Knew," where students and parents participated in meaningful conversations that encouraged understanding, empathy, and open communication.
Families also enjoyed a collaborative art activity that promoted creativity, strengthened family bonds, and reinforced the importance of building healthy relationships.
