🌿🪶 Celebrating Amerindian Heritage Month 2026! 🇬🇾

Today, the Social Studies Department proudly hosted a vibrant display of Amerindian culture, food, history, and experiences as part of our Amerindian Heritage Month 2026 celebrations.

Our students had the opportunity to explore the rich heritage of our First Peoples through traditional foods and drinks, clothing, headdresses, jewellery, cultural displays, history, and more. 🌺🍲🪶

🎸 A special highlight was our students playing “Matapee” on their guitars for visiting students from St. Joseph’s High School, sharing and showcasing an aspect of Amerindian culture through music.

It was a wonderful day of learning, cultural appreciation, sharing, and celebrating the rich heritage of Guyana’s First Peoples. ❤️🇬🇾

📚✨ SRHS PTA Meeting 2026–2027 ✨📚

St. Rose’s High School successfully held its first PTA Meeting for the 2026–2027 academic year, with parents turning out in great numbers! 👏🏽

The Principal and members of the head table welcomed parents and expressed sincere gratitude for their strong support. Our Principal also celebrated the outstanding CSEC and CAPE results and reminded everyone of the importance of upholding the rules and standards of SRHS.

Together, we continue to support, guide and empower our students for success! 🤝🏽

St. Rose’s High School participated in the observance of World Su***de Prevention Day on September 10th under the theme, “Changing the Narrative on Su***de.”
Staff members, teachers, and students wore something yellow to brighten lives with hope and to show their support for su***de prevention. Through meaningful conversations, compassionate listening, support, inspiration, and togetherness, the school community helped spread the message that every conversation has the power to save a life.

📚 International Literacy Day 2026 📚
Today, St. Rose's High School observed DEAR — Drop Everything and Read! in recognition of International Literacy Day.

This meaningful initiative reminded us of the power of literacy to build confidence, develop competencies, and create leaders.
