🇫🇷 Who can make the perfect round crêpe?

Our Live Crêpe Station gave visitors a hands-on opportunity to step up to the crêpière and try making their very own French crêpe, many of who had never tasted a crepe before!

There were plenty of laughs, a few interesting shapes 😄, and lots of determination as everyone tried to master the technique of spreading the batter into that perfect thin, round crêpe.

👏 Congratulations to all the brave participants who gave it a try! And the best part - eating your own creation.

More than just a tasty activity, the station added to the wonderful cultural and learning atmosphere of Language Day, giving participants a fun and interactive way to experience a little piece of French culture.

🇫🇷🥞 French was in the spotlight at Language Day organized by Seishonen Guyana 🎨📚

The Alliance Française of Guyana was delighted to take part in Language Day, hosted by the Embassy of Brazil, and to share a little taste of French language and culture with visitors of all ages!

Our live crêpe station was a crowd favourite, giving participants the chance to discover the technique of making one of France’s most iconic treats. 🥞

Our Kids’ Station was just as popular — and not only with the kids! 😄 Children and adults joined in with a variety of France-themed activities, including:

🗼 Building an Eiffel Tower with straws
🎨 Astérix & Obélix colouring pages
⚜️ Creating mosaic fleurs-de-lys
🧠 Playing memory card games with French vocabulary
Mini 3D Paris

🇫🇷 Our energetic Speed French Class, led by the charismatic Lisa Agard, was very well attended and greatly appreciated by participants. It was a fun opportunity to discover just how much French you can learn in a short time!

A special MERCI to our wonderful volunteers — Shonta Noel, Shola Bishop, Vincent Benamara, Malkia Payne, Lisa Agard and Allycia Precilla— for generously giving their time, animating our different stations and making everyone who visited our booth feel welcome. 💙🤍❤️

Thank you as well to our partners French Tradition for sending traditional French pastries for everyone to enjoy at our food station.

We appreciate all the participating embassies for making Language Day diverse and full of ambiance!

🥐🇫🇷 What a delicious Saturday! 🇫🇷🥞

Our 2nd edition of the French Breakfast was a sweet success! 🎉 We flipped, filled and served over 200 crêpes and 15 delicious French brioche loaves — French Tradition provided pastries and hot drinks - and judging by the smiles, they didn’t last long! 😋

And this time, we added something new to the breakfast table: our egg station! 🍳 Guests could order their eggs just the way they liked them — scrambled or sunny-side up — freshly prepared and served hot. A little extra touch that made breakfast even better!

We loved seeing families come and enjoy our kids’ table, where little artists could color, draw, paint and play social card and board games. And let’s be honest… the adults had just as much fun with the games! 🎨🃏🎲

A huge MERCI to French Tradition for hosting us and to everyone who came out and supported us.

Call for Projects!

The Regional Department for Cooperation and Cultural Action of the French Embassy launches the 2026 edition of the Small Grants Programme

➡️ Are you an NGO, association, cooperative, or civil society organization with an innovative project?
This is your opportunity to secure funding and bring your ideas to life.
Selected projects will be granted up to 85% of the total amount of project, with a maximum limit of 4,600 euros. The project must be implemented between September 2026 and June 21, 2027.

It must focus on one or more of the following themes :
- Ocean (marine health, biodiversity…)
- Sports
- Cultural and Creative Industries
- Francophonie
- Youth Support
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Women’s Empowerment

Projects addressing gender equality and/or regional integration (especially with partners from the French Caribbean) will receive special consideration.

A webinar in English was held on Monday 13th July.
