The Guyana School of Etiquette (GSE) is a much needed institution in the cultural landscape of not only Guyana, but throughout the region, at large, and comes in the wake of the increasing need for sophisticated international diplomacy, advanced regional negotiations and studied local statecraft, in modern intercontinental affairs. However, the world of etiquette is not reserved exclusively, for the hallowed halls of political life. Its sustainability relates more so very realistically and absolutely relevantly to our day to day social in*******se. The philosophy of Caribbean culturing regards highly, etiquette and protocol sensibilities, yet there are very few strategic, operating training centers for the dissemination of such essential knowledge and vital wisdom. The GSE has been established to address these socio-cultural needs of a developing society. The School aims at refining the nature of social discourse, elevating the status of requisite communication skills, enhancing the methods of transacting business, improving the quality of social savvy understanding, heightening the awareness of social graces and professional ethics and re-evaluating the context of customer service practice. All in all, the expedient and efficient management of personal, corporate and governmental interaction becomes the corollary of any successful inclusion of an etiquette institute into the wider human resource development of any nation state. Anthony Nestor, the brainchild of GSE, is very passionate about strategically positioning Guyana to take the lead in the regional thrust for an etiquette mandate in the advancing of civility, courtesy and conduct as a means to an ultimate end - better human relations. This is what the concept of human civilisation is all about. He opines that "several of today’s societal ills would be lessened, were we to focus on engaging more passionately and meaningfully with each other as human beings." He emphasized that this is at the core of any sustainable development initiative - development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Nestor stresses that GSE would seek to partner with all organisations willing to empower the youth as well as to transform the way we interact and arbitrate. It's all about pursuing resolution - oriented policies, and therefore the existence of GSE is timely and critical. Mr Nestor is very excited about throwing its doors open, having been active orchestrating feasibility research as well as attracting considerable numbers of dynamic young entrepreneurs who are willing to put their creative ambitions forward. He sees the School as a great networking space to foster the sharing of energies by like-minded individuals, all wishing to serve nation - building intentions and job-creating missions. The Guyana School of Etiquette is poised on the threshold of "making a difference" in the lives of its inductees. Mr Nestor has promised the best tutors, within the discipline, and is inordinately confident about making not only a regional mark, but claiming an international distinction for his close-to-heart enterprise.
