It’s been a tough week for the SJH family as we mourn the loss of an incredible teacher, Ms. Susanna Sheorattan, who made such a lasting impact on so many of us. We extend deepest condolences to the family, relatives, friends, colleagues and students during this difficult time.
Rest in peace Ms. Susanna. 🕊️
On behalf of the Board of Governors of St. Joseph High School, Administration, Staff and Student Body, we extend condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Ms. Susanna Sheorattan, a beloved educator of our school.
The passing of Ms Sheorattan has brought a deep blow to the current staffing of our school, where she served as our Graduate Head-of-Department of Agriculture Science. Ms. Sheorattan was a dedicated member of staff, passionate about her subject area, and committed to her students and their success. Her most recent graduating class, the class of 2026, admirably received a 100% Pass Rate at the 2026 CSEC Examinations, a testament to her hard work and resolve to seeing the success of her students.
Ms Sheorattan joined the St. Joseph High School family in October, 2018, upon her appointment as GHOD of Agriculture Science. Previously, she was employed as an Assistant Mistress at Tutorial High School (now Austin Castello Tutorial High) between the period 2005-2018, and prior to that at Vergenoegen Secondary from 2001-2002.
Ms Sheorattan has left her mark on our school in many ways, and all in a positive light. As a school community, we not only mourn her as an educator and life-changer, but as a person of great humility, character and virtue.
May she Rest in Peace.
