🍲YOUTH WEEK ACTIVITIES - Part 2🍲
For the conclusion of Youth Week, students and teachers across Grades 7-10 participated in the revived class cook-out competition on Friday, May 29th, 2026.
Students and teachers were tasked with making a particular dish per level, as follows:
Grade 7: Cook-up
Grade 8: Chowmein
Grade 9: Curry
Grade 10: Spaghetti and Meatballs
The activity was well executed, with students surprising even themselves as to their abilities. Despite each level being tasked with cooking the same core dish, the great variety of interpretations and iterations of each shone through, giving the judges a difficult task as to determining an overall winner.

🚴♂️AJANI CUTTING SECURES OVERALL TITLE AT NSC 3-STAGE ROAD RACE🚴♂️
Over the weekend, Ajani Cutting, a current Sixth Form student of St. Joseph High School, made history as one of the youngest cyclists to secure the Overall Title at the National Sports Commission's (NSC) Diamond Jubilee edition of the Independence Three-Stage Road Race.
An event sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, through the NSC and organised by the Guyana Cycling Federation, Ajani participated in three legs of cycling across Linden, West Demerara and finally, in Georgetown, across two days of gruelling competition.
What is even more remarkable is this marks Ajani's first tour as an elite athlete, having recently celebrated his 19th birthday, and despite narrowly missing out on a 1st place finish in the Georgetown leg, secured the overall title due to his consistent performance across all three legs of competition.
Ajani is testament to a balanced and productive academic lifestyle, as he is also currently sitting his CAPE Exams, having sat his most recent exam today.
Many congratulations to Ajani on his superb performance, and we look forward to seeing how he progress even further from here!
