On Monday 14th September, 2026, alumni Lieutenant Colonel Bhageshwar Murli and Captain Gregory Sukull of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) met with students who expressed an interest in being a part of the QC Cadet Corps Programme which was resuscitated last December after an absence from the college for many years.

The alumni officers impressed on the gathering what the programme is about and particularly how it instills life skills such as discipline which would be of tremendous benefit to them in their professional lives. It was also explained that as members of the corps, they will be exposed to vast areas of the country and some small amounts of military training.

The first phase of the cadet programme for this term will entail preparation for the upcoming highly anticipated March Past which will open the Inter-House Athletics Championships on October 2. Current military personnel will be enlisted to aid in this endeavour.

Moving forward a schedule of events will be rolled out to actively engage the corps.

As the Queen’s College Class of 2026 celebrated a major milestone, the Queen’s College Old Students’ Association (QC-OSA) was honored to welcome the newest members of the alumni family.

President Devindra Kissoon served as the guest speaker, sharing words of inspiration and encouragement with the graduating class as they prepared for the journey ahead. Representing QC-OSA, Executive Member Waynace Forde and Public Relations Officer Quissieana Odle presented graduates with a small token, a reminder of the institution that has shaped generations of excellence.

The occasion was made even more special with the presence of Vice-President Christopher Belfield and IPP & Executive Member Pauline Chase, whose words of wisdom encouraged the graduates to stay connected, give back, and become active members of a community built on pride, service, and lifelong fellowship.
