Today, Vergenoegen Secondary School (VSS) held its first Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting for the new school year/term. The meeting provided an opportunity for parents, teachers, and the school administration to come together to discuss matters affecting the academic and overall development of our students.

Among the several important issues discussed were the CCLSC programme, School-Based Assessments (SBAs), student discipline, school uniforms, and activities planned for the term.

The discussions were meaningful and focused on strengthening the partnership between the school and parents while ensuring that students receive the necessary support and guidance to succeed.

The school looks forward to the continued cooperation and involvement of parents throughout the term as we work together for the benefit of our students.

The observation indicated that DEAR has the potential to strengthen students’ interest in reading, improve reading habits and encourage a greater appreciation for books and other reading materials.

We are incredibly proud of our boys who had the honour of representing our Region at the Basketball Championships in Saint Lucia. 🇬🇾🏀🇱🇨

Their dedication, teamwork, discipline and commitment brought great pride to their school, families and the entire Region.

Congratulations, boys! 👏🏾👏🏾 You represented us with courage and determination, and we celebrate your hard work and achievements.

First Assembly – Christmas Term

This morning, we held our first Assembly for the Christmas Term. The Head Teacher addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of discipline, respect, and good behaviour throughout the school community.

Students were reminded that discipline is essential for creating a safe and positive environment where everyone can learn, grow, and succeed. The Head Teacher also spoke firmly about bullying, reminding students that bullying in any form is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Students were encouraged to treat one another with kindness, respect, and understanding, and to speak up if they witness or experience bullying.

As we begin this new term, we encourage every student to make positive choices, demonstrate self-discipline, respect others, and help make our school a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.

Let us make this Christmas Term a term of discipline, respect, kindness, and success.
