On Friday 25th July, 2025, youth leaders participated in a National Youth Conference on Mangrove Conservation, hosted by Recover Guyana, in partnership with international maritime construction company, Jan De Nul.
The event held at the Ramada Princess Hotel, East Bank Demerara, brought together over 150 youth leaders, environmental advocates, policymakers, educators, and scientists from across Guyana. Best speake for the Shout competition Kristina Teekaram, was invited to speak at this event but unfortunately she fell ill. Hence, Raphieal Jacobis proudly and profoundly represented Leguan Secondary School. Miss Elizabeth Jacobis, the social studies HOD also represented the Essequibo County where she competed in a Jeopardy Game on Mangroves and got second place. The Head Teacher along with Miss Natalia and other students attended this event and showed their support.
