Remember to teach our boys and girls the correct way to "Social Distance".

A very important reminder.

1. REFLECT ON LAST YEAR IN A FORMAL WAY: by taking a step back and reflecting on last school year, kids will have a better time preparing and addressing any issues they faced.

2. SET UP MORE SOCIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: work with the school to match your child with an older student for tutoring, or encourage your child to work with friends over FaceTime or ZOOM.

3. HELP KIDS CREATE A DESIGNATED WORKSPACE: now is the time to set up an area that is devoted and conducive to focused, effective learning.

4. FOCUS ON PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: research suggests that increasing physical activity and physical fitness may improve academic performance.

5. MAKE TIME FOR READING AND MATH: daily reading and math can build critical thinking skills and prevent the summer slide.

6. DIVE INTO A MEANINGFUL PASSION PROJECT: set the stage for kids to get into a productive headspace by starting a meaningful project, like building a website or publishing their work or art.

7. KEEP THE LINE OF COMMUNICATION OPEN: holding space for kids to talk about their emotions can help them head into another year feeling more calm and confident.
