All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Dull Boy!

At Three Miles Secondary School, we believe that learning goes beyond the classroom! In keeping with the Ministry of Education’s Physical Education Fridays, our teachers and students took some time to unwind, get active and simply have fun. It was a day filled with games, laughter, teamwork, friendly competition and sheer FUN!

A big thank you to our teachers and students for making the day such an enjoyable one. Because sometimes, a little play is exactly what we need to recharge and get ready to learn, grow and succeed!

The Headteacher and staff of Three Miles Secondary School extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to our former member of staff, Miss Nayomey Murray-Smith, ( Alissa Smith ) on the passing of her beloved father, His Worship, Mayor Anthony Murray, Mayor of Bartica.

During this difficult time of loss, we pray that God grants Miss Murray-Smith and her family strength, comfort, and peace. May the cherished memories of her father bring comfort to their hearts, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

THREE MILES SECONDARY SCHOOL OBSERVES WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION DAY

Today, the Three Miles Secondary School family came together to observe World Su***de Prevention Day. Students and teachers proudly wore yellow as a symbol of hope, remembrance, compassion and solidarity.

We wore yellow to honour those we have lost, stand with those who may be struggling silently, and remind everyone that you are not alone, your life matters, and there is always hope.

This observance also reminds us of the importance of creating a school community where students and staff feel safe to speak, seek support, and know that someone cares. Let us continue to listen without judgment, support one another, and be a source of hope for those around us.

Special thanks and appreciation to Miss Deanne Jones-Roach, Head of Department – Social Studies, and her dedicated team, who continue to go the extra mile to educate and sensitize our students and teachers about important social issues affecting our society.

OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION FROM THREE MILES SECONDARY SCHOOL

We wish to address the concerns raised in a recent social media post regarding the availability of teachers and the Grade 10 Science stream at Three Miles Secondary School.

The claim that certain subjects on the timetable do not have teachers and that Grade 10 Science students are currently struggling because teachers are absent is inaccurate.

Grade 10 Science is not without teachers or being left without instruction as suggested in the post. The students are receiving instruction according to the school’s established timetable.

Like many schools, Three Miles Secondary may encounter challenges from time to time, and we continue to work diligently to address any concerns that may arise. However, it is important that information being shared publicly accurately reflects the situation at the school and does not unnecessarily cause concern among parents and students.

We encourage parents and guardians who have concerns about their child’s education to contact the school directly so that the matter can be properly investigated and addressed. Our doors remain open, and we are committed to maintaining open communication with our school community. We remain committed to providing quality education and ensuring that every student receives the instruction and support they deserve.
