In Nueva Santa Rosa, there’s a farm called Finca San José, and its owner, Jorge Nichols, has been putting in a lot of effort to share high-quality coffees from a region that doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves.
Since 2021, we’ve had the pleasure of working with him, and it’s been four amazing years! Jorge’s story is all about growth, resilience and the thrill of bringing an origin that deserves to be better known.

Nicaragua’s coffee story is rooted in resilience. From the highlands to the communities behind the coffee, it remains one of Central America’s most compelling origins.
Popoyo is one way we get to share that story — through a lot shaped by community, place, and partnership.

Kris traveled to Guatemala, specifically Huehuetenango, to visit Finca San Rafael, and ended up coming across something truly special.
A simple look, but one that says a lot about the work, the place, and everything behind every coffee. 🌿

In 2022, Abdiel, our Director of Producer Releationships was invited to a regional Anacafe cupping event in the area of Coban, Guatemala. There, he got to meet with the leaders and members of La Cooperativa Samac.
Since then, we've come to learn of this wonderful community of 178 families who’ve chosen to dedicate their lives to both coffee and forest conservation; a unique fact.

Their story is truly inspiring, as it demonstrates how coffee can be a powerful force for restoring land, creating jobs for locals and building a brighter future while honouring the earth. It’s always a real honor to visit them, and you’ll find that when you meet these producers, you’re warmly welcomed with a friendly and joyful spirit. Cheers to our friends from Samac!

We started this journey in Guatemala back in 2015 with a simple idea: build relationships that are clear, honest, and meant to last.
Today, that same path continues alongside COSAMAJ, Finca La Hermosa, La Cooperativa Samac, Don Gerson Martínez of Finca San Rafael, Jorge Nichols of Finca San José and with Beneficio la Joya
And after all these years, we still believe the same thing: when trust is real, coffee grows in more ways than one.

Cosecha Partners works with thousands of farming families in Nicaragua and Guatemala, supporting not only coffee, but also cacao, beans, and spices. Their work goes far beyond a single crop: it’s about building stronger communities and more resilient systems by providing tools, market access, and technical support.
For us, what started as a working connection has grown into a solid relationship, built on trust, origin visits, and a shared vision.

Yepocapa will always be in our hearts.
It’s the place where all of this began. In fact, if you didn’t know, we used to be called Yepocapa Coffee before eventually becoming Collaborative Origins Imports!

Coming back here always brings us back to the origin, to where we started and to where we’re heading. These memories matter. They remind us that every step forward is still connected to the place that shaped us.

A few years ago, on one of our trips to Finca La Hermosa, our friend .a.milne took these amazing photos with his film camera.
And yeah, while everyone shoots digital now and checks the photo instantly, film doesn’t give you the luxury of “delete and try again.” You have to trust your eye, the moment, and a little patience. That’s what gives each image its own charm.
Thanks Pete for these gems!

In Guatemala, part of our work trips involve "suffering" through amazing food for the greater good. 😌😋🍽️
Between one plate and the next, there’s always a good story, a lot of laughter, and at least one joke that somehow comes close to being as good as the meal.
It’s one of those moments that never makes it onto the schedule, but always ends up being one of the best parts of the trip.
