This beautiful Guatemalan church is located in San Francisco El Alto. El Alto means "the heights" and it is indeed very high up at 2630 meters above sea level. The original Indigenous K'iche' name was Chusiguan. The church is from the 16th century and you can still see the original frescoes, probably made by indigenous people. Lovely place! I hope to come back during the festival of Saint Francis of Assisi in October.

Latin American culture is so rich and complex that one must try to go to the region's museums in order to get a better picture of our history, cultural practices, and overall who we are. Even if you're just on our side of the world to party or lay on the beach, you will truly love going to these museums.
