I am a proud Guatemalan woman, a very energetic and dedicated person who sets many goals in her life. My goals are more than dreams, as I truly take the time to plan and take action to make them a reality.
I spent my entire school life at Valle Verde and my experience was fun and rewarding. The best part was building life-long friendships and a support system with amazing people. Valle Verde provided me with a set of tools that I’ve used along my journey in life and have helped me succeed, such as taking responsibility for everything I do. Additionally, the tools I learned from the Leader in Me process at school taught me to be proactive, begin with the end in mind and put priorities in my life.
I always wanted to go to college outside the country and I had the opportunity to do so. I studied a major in Business Management with a minor in HR and Psychology at Loyola University in Chicago. I am proud to be graduating in May and coming back to put into practice all that I’ve learned during the past few years.
I currently coach and tutor at Achieving College Excellence, a program designed to serve first-generation college students, students with a financial need, and/or students with a documented disability, as they discern meaning and find direction in their academic, personal, social, spiritual and professional journeys. The knowledge and experience I've gained has inspired and motivated me to apply this to Meraki, a nonprofit organization I founded that raises funds to offer scholarships for children in Guatemala.
I’m thankful for everything I learned at Valle Verde. It has played a significant role in shaping me into the person I am today

“Being part of the Programa de Profesionalización Docente was an extra encouragement I did not expect.
I heard about it when I first started working at Valle Verde and I was eager to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
During the pandemic, I had to pause my academic studies for a semester due to the worldwide financial situation. However, I was relieved I would be able to continue a year later since I would be able to apply to the program. This program helped me finish my ELT profesorado, and because of it, I was able to graduate last year.
Graduating gave me a sense of fulfillment and it reminded me of the daily encouragement I receive at my job to be a better professional for my students. I am sure I will share my knowledge with my peers and I will strive to be a better teacher everyday for my students.”

We encourage students to show
cooperation, to accept others, to appreciate their individual differences, and to think win-win.
This boosts the positive relationships among students, as it cultivates social and emotional skills for a learning environment free of bullying.

At Valle Verde, we believe it is important for our students’ to develop their abilities for exploration and discovery, as well as their problem-solving skills. This is why we love using the Montessori Method in our school.
The Montessori Method, created by María Montessori, strives to develop a way to help children achieve their potential as human beings. This method encourages students to use their five senses and explore the world in a controlled environment to build their knowledge of their surroundings.
This method is also wonderful because it values and respects each child’s rhythm for learning, according to what is expected of them at different stages of development.
“The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.” – María Montessori

This past Saturday, March 11th, our students hosted "The Valle Verde Experience - Open School Day for parents" at our Zone 15 Campus. Many parents visited our school, interested in becoming part of the Valle Verde Family. They started the morning with a marimba concert performed by our students. Then they got to know our Academic Principal and learned about our educational model and philosophy with her. Our visitors learned about our school by participating in different activities, such as being students in an actual lesson, the Leader in Me forum, a guided tour around our Campus, and chatting with our faculty at different stands. We're glad parents truly enjoyed "The Valle Verde Experience"!
If you missed it, come to our next event which will take place on Saturday, April 22nd at our Carretera a El Salvador Campus and you can register at https://valleverde.edu.gt/fp/admisiones3

At Valle Verde, we believe values like respect and love are fundamental for our students. This is why we promote the development of interpersonal relationships through activities that create harmony, both inside and outside of the classroom.
