Tutor Help

Basic rule of life: any parent wants the best for her/his kids. When our kids do not perform satisfactorily in school, the protective instinct emerges, and the seeking for help begins. Normally, tutors are the first line of defense we look for. Nonetheless, tutoring is not necessarily the best solution for everyone. Occasionally, with a little help from mom or dad, a little more attention to school work, a little more discipline at home and less permissiveness may help to do the trick.
In other situations, the work needs more attention. The grades of the student are low, hers or his motivation is gone, the calls from school seem never ending, stress builds up, and at home we don’t know what to do with our kid. “Should we take him to the shrink? Should we all go? or should we hire a tutor? Your nephew is an engineer. Why don’t we call him? No, I was good in Math, I will help him. Please, dad! Don’t. Mommy, tell dad not to, please!”. It is exhausting.

So, what aspects should a parent consider in order to require the services of a private tutor?
