Recently at SETECA, over 100 pastors and leaders attended a
conference on Artificial Intelligence. They learned about the need
to use it wisely, and were reminded that it cannot take the place of
personal and prayerful study of God’s Word in preparing
messages and studies.

SETECA campus is buzzing…
…not with bees, but with a new school year, new students, returning students, meeting new friends and opportunities to study new things for personal growth and ministry.

There is still fire!!! Yes, please pray for the safety of those who are fighting the fires in California. Pray for the thousands of people who have lost their homes. Pray for those who are providing help for people who have been affected. Pray that God will use the churches and Christian organizations involved as they express His love. Pray that through this tragic experience God will bring "beauty out of ashes" as only He can.

How are pupusas, sports, and missions related? Well, pupusas (a Salvadoran specialty) were made by some SETECA students and staff to sell at a sports day at SETECA to raise money for student mission trips. Teams from different churches came to SETECA to play basketball and soccer in a tournament and enjoy a variety of food available during the day! The proceeds will help send student teams this year to mission outreach projects in Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala.

Pastor Deivy Yutan spoke at the recent SETECA graduation ceremony. In the story of Jesus walking on the water, he emphasized how Peter had to step out in faith and keep his eyes on Jesus. That principle is true for the graduates and for all of us as well.

TODAY IS THE DAY
95 years ago, SETECA was founded as the Central American Bible Institute. In 1966 it became the Central American Theological Seminary. The theme for the celebration of 95
years is “FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION, GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL.” Thank the Lord with us for His faithfulness.

Good beginning!
The new students arrived at SETECA for orientation, including a welcome bonfire with music, games, and of course food. Then the returning students arrived and classes began. Yesterday the opening chapel marked the official beginning of the 2024 academic school year!!!
Thank the Lord with us for a good beginning and for the students as they learn through their classes and living in community. Also, pray for the professors as they prepare their classes and teach.

KIDS COME TO SETECA!!!
That's right, kids from the Casita Benjamin (a Christian day care) came to the campus last Friday to celebrate "Children's Day." Claudia, the director of the Casita, graduated from SETECA's diploma program in Counseling in 2021. She says the program has been a great help in working with the kids and also their parents.

On September 26th we were able to thank God as a community of faith for his workers Pablo and Jean Sywulka.
It is wonderful to have the opportunity to recognize and honor those who have been faithful in their service to the Lord.
Paul and Jean Sywulka are true examples of workers worthy of imitation. Their dedication, devotion and love for the Lord and for their work for more than 56 years in Guatemala are inspiring for all of us.
We are grateful for their commitment and service in the community of faith.
