Last Friday the Laboratory of Harbour Works welcomed and gave a tour of its facilities to a delegation of University Rectors, Presidents, Vice-Presidents and representatives from 33 distinguished and leading Chinese universities in the context of the “Second Forum of Higher Education between Rectors of Chinese and Greek Universities”, Athens November 1-3.

We wholeheartedly believe that this visit opens new paths of collaboration and accelerates the joint exchange of knowledge and expertise between the Laboratory of Harbour Works and the School of Civil Engineering on one side and the Chinese Universities on the other. The prospect of expanding this collaboration is further highlighted, considering that the Chinese government has already announced a funding of €200 million for the delivering of the most unique center for large-scale testing with shake-tables, wave flumes, wind tunnel et

We are excited to share our two papers from the funded project "Sustainable Development Plan and Integrated Coastal Zone Management for the Municipality of Thebes through consideration of coastal vulnerability and potential effects of climate change"! In these works, we explore port and coastal vulnerability aspects through implementation of state-of-the art monitoring methods as an attempt to advance current assessment practices 🛳🏝🌊️!
