MUAY SANGHA — EXPLORING THE ROOTS
Before Muay Thai became known throughout the world as the extraordinary martial art it is today, the fighting traditions of Siam carried a vast body of knowledge, developed and passed down through generations.
Throughout my years of practice, I have been fortunate to encounter teachings that explore many aspects of martial training—striking, defense, balance, sweeps, throws, standing grappling, grounding, movement, elasticity, and awareness.
Muay Sangha is simply my personal journey of exploring these principles.
After more than 30 years of training, sharing, and living in Thailand, I remain deeply grateful to the Thai masters and teachers who allowed me, as a foreigner, to learn, practice, and eventually share what they so generously taught me.
Muay Sangha is not an attempt to redefine Muay Thai or to create a new style.
It is a way for me to continue studying, practicing, and preserving the principles that have inspired my path, particularly through Muay Thai and Muay Chaiya.
I continue to learn through practice:
Explore what works.
Practice with patience and sincerity.
Allow understanding to come through experience.
Every situation is different, and so we train to remain present, aware, and able to adapt.
Respect the roots.
Honor the teachers.
Preserve the knowledge.
Continue to learn.
Thank you, Thailand.
Thank you, Muay Thai.
Thank you to all my teachers.
Thank you to my gurus.
