How similar are men’s and women’s experiences of well-being?

Data from the OECD’s Patient Reported Indicator Survey (PaRIS) shows that, among people with one or more chronic conditions, women report significantly poorer well-being than men.

Research shows that women consistently report higher rates of moderate to severe depression than men.

However, men are less likely to seek help for mental health concerns, often leading to later diagnosis and untreated mental illness.
