From Martinique to Veria - Health and Safety is a culture, not a checklist.

We were delighted to welcome two educator specialists from Martinique to our Health and Safety training course here in Greece, and even more delighted to hear what they took home with them.

During their stay they were also introduced to the Safe Steps to Employment platform, our Erasmus+ KA210-VET, which brings micro-credentials and occupational safety training together in one place.

✅ Event complete! On 10 June, Akadimos welcomed 22 participants to our Local Dissemination Event for the ATELIER projectat our headquarters in Veroia.

Together we explored what "design for inclusion" really means in practice — and introduced the full ATELIER Learning Programme: the interactive MOOC, the Handbook, the Catalogue of International Co-Design Practices, and the open-access Repository of Literature Resources.

The energy in the room said it all 💬 Curious questions, lively discussion, and real interest in bringing these tools into local professional and community life across Veroia and Central Imathia.

✅ Event complete! On the same day, 10 June, Akadimos hosted our ATELIER Local Co-Design Workshop in Veroia — a hands-on session built for depth and genuine collaboration.

A focused group of participants rolled up their sleeves 🛠️ to map real social inclusion challenges in Imathia, from social isolation among elderly residents to gaps in inter-institutional collaboration — and to co-create practical, locally-grounded ideas to address them.

Grounded in the five ATELIER principles — the capabilities approach, co-design & co-creation, dialogic participation, community-based development, and design for inclusion — the workshop proved that co-design isn't a theory. It's a working
method that puts community voices at the centre. 🤝

Safe Steps to Employment - Quality Assurance Phase – Complete! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of both Mini Workshops for the Safe Steps to Employment Erasmus+ project! 🇪🇺

🔹 Mini Workshop 1 (23 March 2026) kicked things off with 10 VET trainers and OSH professionals from the Macedonia region diving into our brand-new Learning Management System and exploring Micro-credential 1: Foundational OSH Competencies. The feedback was outstanding — participants rated content relevance at 4.4/5 and 100% expressed intent to complete the full programme! 💪

🔹 Mini Workshop 2 (30 March 2026) took things to the next level! With 40 substantive participants joining online, we validated the improvements made after Workshop 1 and explored all three OSH Micro-credentials. The results? Even better scores across the board with 4.5/5 overall satisfaction and 95% would recommend the programme to a colleague! 🚀

🎯 The Safe Steps LMS (safesteps-training.eu) is now cleared for full implementation! Stay tuned for the official launch and open access to all three OSH Micro-credentials.

Returning to work after a break? Health and safety is your safe restart.

After maternity leave, a long break or a change of industry, many things may look different: tools, pace, procedures and even types of hazards. That is why health and safety should not be a ‘tick-box exercise’, but a short, specific refresher course tailored to the realities of 2025/2026.
What's hot today?
✅ Interactive training (online, mobile, practical) instead of just lectures.
✅ Micro-credentials as quick confirmation of specific skills.
✅ Greater emphasis on mental health and well-being (stress, overload, remote/hybrid work).
📌 Remember: initial training is mandatory for new employees, and periodic training is worth refreshing, especially when regulations, job positions or technology have changed.
If you are returning to work, make sure you get off to a good start. It really makes a difference.
