Can heritage interpretation be useful to history teachers?

Thanks to an invitation by the Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency, teachers from different schools in Lithuania explored the paths heritage interpretation offers when visiting UNESCO sites.

By the end of this 2-day workshop, everyone seemed to agree: yes, it can!

Interpret Europe's course for Certified Interpretive Planners, in Kosovo.

For one week, archaeologists and architects collaborate and prepare their interpretive proposals for the archaeological site of Ulpiana. Or else, how to spread the word about heritage interpretation in the Balkans!

Are you interested in interpretive writing and/or guiding?

Two Interpret Europe courses for Certified Writers and Certified Guides will take place at the World Heritage Centre Wadden Sea, in the Netherlands, at 29/9-3/10/25 and 10-14/11/25.

The courses will be held in English, by Interpret Europe certified trainers Valya Stergioti (for writers' course) and Vanessa Vaio (for guides' course).

What a week that was!

For five days, I was lucky to exchange ideas, opinions and solutions about non-personal interpretive services, as part of an Interpret Europe course for Certified Interpretive Writers.

The staging was perfect: springtime in Plaka, Athens, right under the harmonious yet imposing presence of the Parthenon!

As for the participants... bringing forward their own experiences, creating little interpretive miracles in tight timeframes and always setting provoking questions, they were the best companions a trainer could ask for!

Special shout out to Ronia Anastasiadou/Sifnos Events, for insisting and organising!

An experience to remember: Alli Meria introduced heritage interpretation in Kigali and Nyanza, to managers, guides, tour operators and university professors.

Following a long-term collaboration with The Heritage Management Organization, Alli Meria travelled to Rwanda for two face-to-face trainings, adapted to the needs of professionals from this beautiful country.

It was so interesting to discuss with these people, only to realise that in interpretation, no matter which country we come from, we all share similar questions and search for meaningful solutions!
