In 6th Thessaloniki International Media Summer Academy, the theme is “New Trends in Media and Journalism”. How can the crisis of the pandemic be turned into an opportunity to strengthen journalism and communication? How can trust in journalism and journalists be strengthened? Will new communication methods such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and virtual reality simply facilitate th

e flow of misinformation and disinformation? What are the opportunities presented by the concept of a metaverse? How can we assure that ethical issues of equity and sustainability are being addressed? What tangible steps can we take during our time at THISAM to make progress in these areas? Final project presentations, a look back at everything we experienced together, and a graduation ceremony to close out ten unforgettable years.

A massive thank you to our participants for the energy they brought every single day, to our faculty members for their guidance, and to every speaker who shared their knowledge and time with us.

Panigiri: a traditional Greek festival, usually held outdoors, filled with live music, dancing and a whole village showing up together.

Day 3 at THISAM wrapped up with exactly that. Our participants joined a real panigiri in Kastoria, dancing, laughing and experiencing a piece of Greek culture up close.
