The first application period for the Joint (double degree) Master’s Program in “International Studies – specialization in European Studies” (academic year 2026-2027) is now open. The MA Program “International Studies – specialization in European Studies” is offered by the School of Political Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society (Dipartimento di Culture, Politica e Società) of the University of Turin. The Program awards two separate diplomas (double degree): a postgraduate diploma in “International Studies – Specialization in European Studies” awarded by the School of Political Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh); and a postgraduate diploma “International Studies – Specialization in European Studies” (Scienze internazionali, profilo Studi Europei) awarded by the Dipartimento di Culture, Politica e Società of the Università degli Studi di Torino (UniTo).The Program is offered in English, and it is addressed to graduates of higher education institutions who have completed at least their first cycle of studies. The duration of the Program is two years (the Program provides 120 ECTS). During the first year, courses take place in Thessaloniki at the School of Political Sciences; during the second year, courses take place in Turin by the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society of the University of Turin.

ℹ️Το ανοιχτό διαδικτυακό εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα (MOOC) "Ανάπτυξη δεξιοτήτων για ένα πλουραλιστικό πανεπιστήμιο χωρίς διακρίσεις" δημιουργήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του Precious Project (Promoting Pluralistic Education in European Universities to Combat Invisible Discrimination of LGBTQIA+ People – Προώθηση της Πλουραλιστικής Εκπαίδευσης στα Ευρωπαϊκά Πανεπιστήμια για την Καταπολέμηση της Αόρατης Διάκρισης κατά των LGBTQIA+ Ατόμων), στο οποίο συμμετέχει το Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης με Επιστημονική Υπεύθυνη την Καθηγήτρια Νομικής Σχολής ΑΠΘ Λίνα Παπαδοπούλου.

The international conference for the conclusion of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence REBUILD and the kick-off of the Jean Monnet Network PROSPER, coordinated by the DCU Brexit Institute and the Dublin European Law Institute (DELI), was held at Dublin City University from 22 to 24 January 2025.

The keynote address by Mairead McGuinness, former European Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, provided a compelling perspective on the EU's financial stability and resilience. A remarkable day of dialogue and insight, setting the tone for transformative discussions ahead.

Among prominent panelists, Professor Lina Papadopoulou was invited to talk about "The Future of Social Europe and the European Pillar of Social Rights" as part of the "Prosperity and Resilience" thematic pillar.

The Jean Monnet Network PROSPER (Project to Research Opportunities to Strengthen Prosperity and Economic Resilience in the EU) aims to strengthen knowledge sharing, promote best practices, and address contemporary challenges facing the EU through interdisciplinary research and educational initiatives. It focuses on exploring and enhancing economic resilience within the EU, by identifying and promoting strategies that can bolster economic stability and growth, particularly in the context of challenges such as globalisation, climate change, and economic disparities among Member States.

The Jean Monnet Network PROSPER unites 12 institutions from across Europe, including the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Members of AUTh's research team include Professor Ioannis Papageorgiou, Associate Professor Georgios Andreou, Assistant Professor Georgios Karavokyris, and PhD candidates Lydia Papagiannopoulou and Stefanos Katsoulis, under the academic coordination of Professor Lina Papadopoulou.
