Play Perform Learn Grow (PPLG) is a conference and a growing community celebrating the power of play

23/03/2025

PPLG Residency is created to nourish, sustain and amplify emerging artistic social projects and to connect their creators with international networks of care and support. In the midst of enduring crises and daily fears, what makes us look towards the horizon, towards what is not here yet?
We want to listen to what new you are creating or dreaming of creating in your community and help it grow.
Apply here until 1st of May: https://pplg.org/residency

PPLG 2021 Voices

Marilia Fotopoulou, Team Leader - Workshop Department at _yx_official, student of Psychology, PPLG 2021 organizing team

'Someone is awake in Mexico at 3 am.
Someone is dancing in the middle of the night in Costa Rica.
A young man from Uganda is sharing heartwarming and heartbreaking stories, from his screen.
Students from Myanmar dance for souls in Greece, Italy and Israel.
A teacher is raising up her voice to resist and to inspire.
A Colombian in the Netherlands is having a late night party in their couch.
An Indian is performing theatre from her bedroom till the edge of the world.
A Greek is cooking delicious recipes from Lesvos.

Are we alone? Or are we together?
Can we cry in front of a blue screen? Can we hug, or touch or sympathize even if we don’t meet in person?
How is it even possible? How can an emerging need be met? How can we improvise to inspire people into action while being thousands of miles apart?
The answer is PPLG. Yes, it is possible.
The Art of giving the world a safe space to be listened to, to express and to freely exist.
This is us. Our family. Our community.'

Closing Plenary

Celebrating and honoring 3 days of creating new performances and new belongings together. Hundreds of people from 49 countries that met: to share discoveries, to play, to dance, to make theatre and music, to share and develop research, to support each other in what they are each bringing to the world.

Thank you all our presenters and participants, the production team, the team of volunteers, the organizing and scientific committees. Together we made PPLG 2021 and this global experiment of creating belonging possible!

Stay tuned for more PPLG moments and voices!

FOOD STORIES

Louisa Kistemaker, Tamsin Curno, Jill Olesker, Sheila Katzman, Maysoon

Can a more conscious or creative relationship to food exploring our food stories also open new ways of relating to one another and to the natural world?
In what ways can food reconnect us to cultural practices and intergenerational knowledge?
