Hello everyone! For Mother's Day this Sunday 10/5, you can choose an alternative and not so happy activity for more advanced levels. On my Mother's Day page you will find two free creative writing activities based on historical photos. Asking students to put themselves in the shoes of another person does not only inspire creativity but it also cultivates empathy in the best way:

Hello everyone! As you may know, I'm really in favour of using stories in my lessons to make language learning more meaningful and creative. "The Selfish Giant" by Oscar Wilde is a lovely way to bring together literature and the energy of spring in the classroom. On my "Spring" page you will find a free activity for B1 students to explore themes of seasons, change and kindness through reading tasks and creative writing activities:

Hello everyone! Jane Austen is a beloved author whose characters experience shifts in feelings, perspectives and opportunities. The ever changing landscapes she describes, the walks her characters enjoy in nature and their shifting emotions reflect the same ideas of potential and hope we see all around us this time of the year. To commemorate her talent, I have created an activity for C1-C2 level students that combines Reading-Listening-Writing and is based on two of her masterpieces: "Pride and Prejudice" and "Emma". You can find the activity on my page "Spring", the link is in the comments below.

Hello everyone! Today, the 15th of April, we celebrate the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, a mind that never separated art from science, curiosity from learning. In foreign language teaching we see this every day. When students draw, imagine, tell stories, interpret and re-interpret works of art, they are not just practicing the target language, they are “living” it. Language is much more than grammar and vocabulary, it is expression, creativity, connection. Art gives language meaning as it builds confidence and helps students see the world through different perspectives. Art creates bridges connecting ideas, words, emotions and people from different backgrounds.
To commemorate Leonardo's masterpieces, you can find 3 free activities for different ESL levels on my "Art History" page along with a variety of ideas based on using art in class:
